[history]
The man who uncovered evidence the FBI tailed presidential candidate John Kerry for months in 1971 said some of those files were stolen this week.
Author Gerald Nicosia reported to police Friday that three of the 14 boxes of once-secret FBI files he obtained under the Freedom of Information Act were taken from his Corte Madera home.

They were the files that proved he was a mole for the FBI.

A John Kerry Watergate-style break in?
I sincerely believe he has a lot psychologically in common with Nixon. Nixon also watched him carefully - perhaps seeing a little of himself in the then-young upstart.
Just speculating, of course.

These would be copies wouldn't they ? So he can reapply and then look particularly at those stolen the first time to see what makes them attractive :)

You could have your thrill seeker, like someone who wants a piece of the history, . . . Yeah, right, a thrill seeker who knew exactly which files to take. I doubt that. The rats are out to cover up for Kerry. The FBI better make sure their files are secured against an inside job, or they will come up missing, too.
To: Sabertooth
One could assume he could just refile under the FOIA, and get them again. But I presume, he has revealed all the best stuff.

Note to people with documents on Democrats:
1) Make copies
2) Put copies in safe place
3) Make more copies
4) Put copies in place nobody knows about
5) Get a security guard
6) Make a will

If these documents were received as the result of a Freedom of Information Act request, they were copies, not the originals. It may cost him an additional fee, but, he should be able to resubmit his FOIA request and obtain them again.

They will show up five years later on Hillary's coffee table!
To: Sabertooth
Missing files? No problem. He can always ask Hillary! for her copies of JF'nK's files.

"There's a range of possibilities. You could have your thrill seeker, like someone who wants a piece of the history," Nicosia told The Associated Press Friday in a phone interview."
Right. There's a range of possibilities... and then they only state one side of that range, one that totally absolves Kerry.
The reason that would leap to anyone's mind upon seeing the headline? Not even mentioned.
I'm sure the same would be true if something similar happened concerning files about Bush.
Uh huh.

P.S. Sure - the author could reapply under the FOIA. Only this time, those documents won't be provided. Whoever stole those documents, I would bet, has more than enough clout to get rid of the originals as well. Not even saying it was Kerry necessarily - but it could easily be foreign "allies" of the VVAW.

Hmmm... if that is true, then is it possible under the FOIA to say "I'll have what she's having?"
In other words, can one, under the FOIA, find out what information she was given under the FOIA?
