Kerry says people are born gay

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry says he believes people are born gay but are not guaranteed the right to marry within their own gender.

"I think it's entirely who you are from birth, personally," Kerry said in an interview to be broadcast on MTV. "Some people might choose, but I think that it's, it's who you are. I think you have ... people need to be able to be who they are."

Asked why he favors civil unions instead of marriage if people are born gay, Kerry replied: "What is distinct is the institutional name or whatever people look at as the sacrament within a church, or within a synagogue or within a mosque as a religious institution. There is a distinction. And the civil state really just adopted that, and it's the rights that are important, not the sort of ... the name of the institution."

In a transcript released Friday by MTV for its Tuesday special "Choose or Lose: 20 Million Questions for John Kerry," the presumptive Democratic nominee said he favors civil unions to give people partnership, inheritance and other rights.

"I think that people have a right in America to be who they are," Kerry said. "I believe very strongly that we can advance the cause of equality by moving toward civil union."

I'm voting for Kerry. After all, I was born a thief and rapist, and I know he'll stand up for my right to be who I was born to be.

If one is born gay, then a natal gene test should be the basis for abortion of the fetus. (sarcasm off)

Kerry can't even keep his lies about gays straight. Here's what he said just a few weeks ago:

He continued: "The only point I want to make to you is, I've talked to enough people — some of whom fought for their country in war — and I've talked to many of them who didn't discover their own sexuality until they were 35, 40 years old, and it wasn't because they made a choice, it was because they found out who they were."

If you're born gay, as he claims in the above article, would it really take you 20-25 years past the age of puberty to figure it out?

Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry says he believes people are born gay but are not guaranteed the right to marry within their own gender.

Believe it or not, that is probably the only truthful statement Kerry has made in the entire campaign.

Ask any heterosexual if he was born that way. The answer will be, "Yes! I love having sex with women."

Ask any homosexual if he was born that way. The answer will be, "Yes! I love having sex with men."

End of arguement.

Let's suppose that people are born gay.

I was born with a tendency to strangle anyone who displeased me.

Did that make it right?

Fortunately I had parents who raised me right. I have never strangled anyone who displeased me.

.

.

Wait for it.

.

NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY MAY HAVE DESERVED IT!!!!!!!

Let's be honest. Some people are born gay, others are on the fence and could happily be straight. Others choose to be gay for reasons of their own, including political, or the effects of abuse, untreated by proper counseling. More lesbians tend to fall into the latter category, while most gay men I have known seem to be irrevocably and unintentionally gay.

What "science" says that some people can't be born attracted to the same sex?

None. And, given how difficult it is to prove a negative, I doubt that any ever will.

Likewise, no science exists proving that people ARE born attracted to the same sex either. That's the point: Kerry is simply stating his opinion, not a proven fact.

Many misinformed people think this issue was settled by a study a few years back (10?) that claimed to have found physiological differences in a gay person's brain. When other investigators were unable to replicate the results, it was discovered that the authors of the study were pushing a personal agenda. If there is, in fact, a physiological difference, it has yet to be found.

I read an article that says Kerry's "handlers" are concerned because he doesn't seem to know where to put the "periods" in a sentence. They should be concerned.

SEXUAL PREFERENCE IS A CHOICE!

I'm not so sure about that. I am a male who happens to be sexually attracted to women. I have never felt sexually attracted to men. I did not make a choice to be this way. It does not require any willpower on my part to avoid having sex with men. Likewise there appear to be some people who are indeed sexually attracted to the same sex or to both sexes. It is likely that they did not "choose" to be this way either. It seems to me that many people who say that sexual preference is a choice probably feel sexual attraction to both sexes and must use willpower to fight the attraction to their own sex.

It's a choice, because no one is forced to put their penis into another man.

Wanting to pro-create is natural and homosexual sex cannot result in pro-creation.

If homosexual sex isn't a choice, than neither is pedophilia, bestiality, or adultery.

So, he knows this from personal experience?
If he believes this, then why doesn't he wholly endorse gay marriage?

Or, is he saying being born gay is like being born with Down's Syndrome? Is he suggesting Americans' with Disabilities protection?

Very nuanced, indeed.
