I guess you did miss it. The '94 earthquake was a 7.2.

No Aerial shots but I did find these, I think our forces over in IRAQ would like to see Abdel Kader Sahadi.

Iraqi insurgents load a mortar before firing it at US forces Friday March 26, 2004, during intensive fighting in the town of Fallujah in the so-called Sunni Triangle, where support for Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) is strong and rebels often carry out attacks against American forces. Witnesses said heavy gunfire and explosions were heard when Marines moved into the center of the city. (AP Photo/Abdel Kader Sahadi)

Actually, it's been undergoing a lot of renewal in the last few years since it has become annexed as "Trani-land."

I understand the "series"/"serious" thing, and I think it's pretty "funy", but I don't get the references to "going to take a shower", or, "I'm gonna pop some popcorn". Can you help?

"The fire started by an electrical control center which malfunction which led to a reverse circuit."

Thanks...MUD

"...the sprinkler system in one of the MCV campus building burst over a weekend soaking every floor from 10 down to the basement...."

Which building? West Hospital perhaps?

A fastfood restaraunt is reported at one site I saw, but I've already closed the window. I think it was wric.com

Yes I know. I'm a VCU grad 1982. Left Richmond after graduation and live in CT now but make it back all the time. Funny how nobody cried terror when the roof caught fire on the old bank building behind the Baptist Student Union in June 1980 when the shingle torch got loose.

Museum of Confederacy is off Rt 161 and significantly north of this. The Confederate White House is in completely the opposite direction down town from this fire but about the same distance south. No harm should come to either.

The two buildings I'm thinking of are side by side there by the parking garage of MCV. Could you be thinking of the Civil War Museum?

Or the Dental School a few years ago. Different world we live in now.
But I don't think this is terrorism - stupidity or bad luck, but not terrorism.

Could be. So many similarly themed museums. Thankfully nowhere near this fire though.

When we had the earthquake back in the Fall, I thought of the following things in this order:
-that some knucklehead did something reeeaaallllyyy stupid with all the repair work being done at City Hall.
-a very large truck going by
-terrorism
-and then, finally, earthquake.

In 1980, terrorism wouldn't have made the list, that's for sure.

Is The Raleigh-Durham Airport, where the F-18 just crashed, located near I-95?
