**Richard Clarke Takes Position as ABC News Consultant**
ABC News | March 25, 2004

I don't do this very often, so forgive me.

I was watching the ABC program tonight on Donald Rumsfeld at 8 P.M. EST.

Right in the middle of the show, here appears Richard Clarke, and down in the corner is the little ABC logo with the words ABC (SOMETHING) CONSULTANT. (Not sure what TYPE of consultant, but definitely CONSULTANT.

The Dems are going with a full court press on this election.

They haven't been sitting on their hands since 2000. They will hit Bush continuously till Novemeber.

The media will not restrain themselves.

It's because the Dem Party is fighting for it's life .. they are banking EVERYTHING they have on this election

The last time I saw the media this blatantly biased was in 1988. They had 8 years of Reagan and smelled blood in the water because Bush seemed like such a weak candidate.

They dropped all pretense of objectivity and savaged Bush to no end, all the while holding up Dukakis as some sort of messiah-like redeemer who would lead America out of the morass of the Reagan years into the promised land of liberal high tax, nanny state utopia.

The bias was jaw-dropping and continuous. This election year reminds me very much of that one. Of course, the culmination was watching Dan Rather fight back tears as he announced the Bush landslide in November. That was sweet beyond words.

Well, he's committed perjury, so aybe he will have to kiss that new job good bye, when he's in the can.

RIGHT- just like Clinton got punished for his perjury. These guys operate with the Democratic Justice system - a far cry from everyone else's justice --er uh legal system.

I thought I would crack up when Ma Richards said that she THANKED Terry McAuliffe for all that he has done for their party.

My theory is that McAuliffe is actually on the RNC payroll. He has been such a disaster for the DNC, yet he still has a job.

Bill Clinton tried to divide this nation from within by demonizing his enemies and using security agencies (and tax collectors) to intimidate his opponents and hypnotize his flock of sheep.

Superbly stated.

The Clintons' (et alia) use of the IRS and intimidation agencies (and the use of stolen FBI files) CONTINUES.
It is a shame on President Bush's legacy that he did nothing to change any of this.

Is this the (911) commission that demanded an extension a couple of months ago?

"Let's just help that the average American can see it as well as we can..."

This is astonishing, infuriating news. Unfortunately, I don't think the average American will notice.

Somehow I also don't find it a coincidence that the freerepublic.com address doesn't work anymore--I was nearly hyperventilating this a.m. when I couldn't find it.

Imagine--they take over the print & broadcast media and shut down the one place where the truth can be found and disseminated.

The most frightening aspect of Clarke's political activism is that he knows the secrets at the highest level of our government. HE was worried about cyber-terrorism. Since Dems ALWAYS scream about what they are thinking and planning, I am having a panic attack, by taking this theorem to its logical conclusion.

Stuffing ballotboxes by altering chads is so last century. As soon as Dems started crying foul about the paperless computer voting machines (which are a stupid idea) I knew they were thinking of ways to overcome the system.

Clarke's connections go everywhere which makes him an extremely dangerous man.

I am just sick.

This offers an opportunity for Freepers. As Clarke travels the country making his appearances, local affiliates WILL be covering his every word.

Local media affiliates are often more sensitive to fairness issues than the parent networks. While they are unlikely to be persuaded to air the entire list of problems with Clarke's statements, or to even ask tough questions, they can at least be put on notice about conflict of interest issues.

To wit: Clarke works as a consultant/analyst for ABC, his book publisher is owned by the same company that owns CBS, and his business partner, Roger Cressey, in the employ of NBC.

Each local station affiliate should be reminded of the respective connection and the obligation for full disclosure.

Preferably, this should be done prior to coverage of Clarke's appearance, so that the disclosure can be made within the same news coverage segment, rather than an after-the-fact caveat buried in the next day's viewer mail feedback. As soon as a freeper hears Clarke will be appearing in his/her area, contact the stations and copy your local Republican party headquarters, or the office of a local republican congressional rep.

It's not that they were never critical of Clinton, they just always gave him an out, and in extreme cases like Gary Aldrich they would circle the wagons. But they did criticize him too. Remember, ratings are their goal as much as liberal policies.

NOW we all know why an extension was demanded, a political move from the beginning, waiting for CLARKE and his BOOK getting rushed to the publishers.

U.S. Senate approves 9/11 commission extension (2 months)
Reuters ^ | 2/27/04

Posted on 02/27/2004 10:32:41 AM PST by areafiftyone

WASHINGTON, Feb 27 (Reuters) - The Senate on Friday approved a two-month extension for a commission investigating the Sept. 11, attacks but the measure is still opposed by the top Republican leader in the House of Representatives.

The Senate approved a proposal passed by the intelligence committee on Thursday to give the commission an additional $1 million and extend its deadline to July 27 from May 27.

The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States wants extra time to follow leads from its review of documents and its interviews about circumstances around the 2001 hijacked plane attacks that killed about 3,000 people.

House Speaker Dennis Hastert, an Illinois Republican, does not want an extension, saying it would delay recommendations and potentially politicize the findings as they would be released at a critical time in the presidential campaign.

The White House initially opposed the congressionally created commission and later resisted the two-month extension. But it has cooperated with the panel and says it favors giving it two months more time.

Al Felzenberg, the commission spokesman, welcomed the Senate vote."This is a very positive step. The commission is very appreciative of the Senate's action," he said. "We're very hopeful that the House of Representatives will see fit to do the same."

If the House does not pass the extension, the commission would complete its work by the late-May deadline, but it would hold fewer public hearings, he said. "We would probably not be able to pursue as many late-breaking leads as we would like."

The commission would explain in its report which areas it was unable to fully investigate because of time constraints, Felzenberg said.

He said commission staff continued to negotiate with White House staff about the parameters within which President George W. Bush would be interviewed about the Sept. 11 attacks.

Bush has agreed to meet privately with the commission's chairman and vice chairman for one hour, while the commission is asking that all 10 members be allowed in the meeting.

"We would hope that he would reconsider and be willing to meet with the entire commission," Felzenberg said.

Asked about the one-hour time limit, Felzenberg said that Kean has pointed out that "it's extremely unusual going back in history for a sitting president to meet with any investigative body such as ours."

Felzenberg noted that when the Warren Commission was investigating the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, then-President Lyndon Johnson submitted a brief statement but was not interviewed. (Additional reporting by Caren Bohan)

U.S. Senate approves 9/11 commission extension (2 months)

Who was responsible for counterterrorist activities 9/10? Do you think that they failed to do their job? Would you believe them if they tried to blame someone else? Why do you listen to Dick Clarke?

Some questions to be asked.

Clarke willingly became a tool of the lying crooked liberals who say nothing against the terrorists who exist to KILL & DESTROY US.

Clarke was selected willingly, cause he did not get the job he wanted, yet he is presented as the one lone "credible" voice.

I do not listen specifically to what Clarke says, rather to what is an orchestrated attempt to affect an election, with lying accusations and a "INVITATION" given to the world wide terrorist at large claiming the US is less secure today, than prior to 9/11 because President Bush is obsessed with Iraq.
