I am citing what Cohen told the committee which was that the factory was a connecting link between Osama and Saddam. Argue with him as to the REAL reason but that was HIS statement.

""Must be the twentieth time someone says this, but didn't these idiots ever hear of Lexus-Nexus and Google??The days of having to sift microfiche in the basement of the NYTimes are long over. And Bush made Clarke the head of Cyber Security?? If I were the Dems I'd point out the obvious problem with that selection.""

Don't be fooled, these idiots are so BLINDED by Dubya's hatred these little facts and truths would have only gotten in the way. This BOMBSHELL will have a very short lifespan in TV land tonight! Don't count on it being a FULL BLOWN BOMBSHELL in the liberal media community!

It seems to me that the Democrats, being out of power and having little else to do now that Clinton's bimbo eruptions are no longer on the front page, did a pretty good job of preparing for these "Show hearings." They coordinated their message and recruited defectors like O'Neil and Clarke. They got their talking points out and into the news coverage. The Bush Administration, no doubt distracted by some trivial task like leading the Free World or trying to kill Bin Laden, did not put as much effort into managing The Show.

I cannot argue with Bush's priorities, but we do need to do a better job of coordinating our own counter-attacks and we need to launch an offensive of our own. I suggest the time is right to highlight Kerry's dismissals of the threat of terrorism. The issue is at the forefront at the moment, thanks to The Show. Clearly, among Bush, Kerry, and Nader, only Bush can say he had a pre 9-11 plan to battle terrorism and he currently ranks the War on Terror as his main priority. Clarke's spin on history cannot change this fact in the present. Attack where the enemy is weakest, and the enemy is Kerry!

Cohen is a liar like his ex-boss. A novel idea might be to believe the opposite of what he says, don't you think?

I forgot about Ben-Veniste -- he's the kool-aid type alright. Roemer wan't too bad in the parts I saw, but I didn't watch the whole thing.

I have found the best way to deal with the "John Galts" of the world is to just ignore them. He's always right and smarter than everyone else and unless you agree with his point of view you are branded a traitor. All he does is try to get attention. The worst thing you can do to people like that is ignore them.

Can anyone discern any specific allegation that Clarke makes? It just seems to me to be a bunch of mumbo jumbo about how he felt.

are there gnats in here?

Yep, you're right. It's just a shame we have to tolerate his garbage around here. I mean, if I wanted to hear that kind of thing I'd go to alt.politics.

I can't stand Ben-Veniste. For the entire time he had Armitage, he acted like he was questioning Rice...but because she wasn't there, he couldn't get the answers he wanted.

"...mumbo jumbo about how he felt. "

Precisely. Did you hear the tape Rush played of Condi Rice being interviewed in 2000? She was talking about Bin Laden and Al Qaida. But that's impossible, since "American Grandstand" claimed he was the one who "taught" her about them.

Anyway, thanks!

Ditto your #714. Sometimes it's just fun to watch some spinning and since I've watched so much of it on the 911 Commission today, I thought I'd continue watching it on FR!
