[history]
In what its producer describes as an "antidote" to Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ," Monty Python's controversial biblical spoof, "Life of Brian," will be re-released in theaters for its 25th anniversary next month.
The late Graham Chapman plays Brian of Nazareth, who is constantly being mistaken for Jesus Christ (Kenneth Colley), even after he is sentenced to crucifixion by Pontius Pilate (Michael Palin).

This first time I saw this film, I tuned in during the "alien battle" scene. To this date I can't keep a straight face through the film.

A classic.
I hope the re-release pisses off as many folks as who were pissed off at Mel's film.

Favorite parts:
"I want to have babies."
"WHAT?!?"
"I want to have babies."
"Well where are you going to gestate the fetus? Are you going to keep it in a box?"
"Crack suicide squad, ATTACK!"
"He's NOT the Messiah, he's my son and he's been a very naughty boy!"
The Peoples' Front of Judea fighting the Judean Peoples' Front to the death in the sewer.
"Oh, f*ck off!"
"How shall we f*ck off, o Lord?"
"Bigguth... DICKUTH!"
And of course,
"Always look on the bright side of death..."
Love that movie. If it plays in Indy, my girlfriend and I will definitely go to see it.

While I am a fan of MP, as one who has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, I have always found "The Life of Brian" sacrilegious. The whole thrust of the film demeans the person and work of Christ. Sorry, the subject matter is not funny.
