Tennessee could be a bell weather state, wonder what Florida looks like.

"Head to head" as in no other candidate is in the poll; just those two fellas. They didn't say "Neck to Neck".

Not a surprise. TN will be firmly for Bush this year without "native Tennessean" Al Gore on the ticket. I doubt the RATS even attempt to compete in TN.

Agreed. Someone post the battleground states map.

It's "head to head" or "neck in neck" as long as Bush is in the lead, but "Kerry leads or beats Bush" if the reverse! NO BIAS in the Media, and that included Fox News tonight!

41% should be the peak for Kerry. I don't see how TN folks will be energized toward voting for a MA liberal Yankee.

It will be interesting to see how far TN has come, along with the rest of the South, in moving to the GOP. Interesting since this will be the first time since 1988 that native son Algore has not been on the rat ticket. In that year, with a MA liberal on the ticket, TN took a huge step to the right in it's presidential voting. So, I suspect that an 11-point lead for Bush at this point is NOT really all that impressive.

Bush Sr. won Tennessee over Dukakis by 16%. He won the national vote by 8.5%
Bush Jr. is leading by 11% over Kerry (his liberal record is still not known to many voters) when the last national poll is showing Bush leading by 3% over Kerry.

Bob Dole won 159 electoral votes in 1996. Add 3 electoral votes that went to heavy Republican states due to repportionment = 162.
Kentucky has become solid Republican. Add 8 = 170.
Polls in Arizona, Nevada, and now Tennessee show Bush leading Ho Chi Kerry by more than 8%.
10+4+11= 25.
170+25= 195 solid electoral votes for Bush as of now.

Not surprising, but still encouraging. I also liked the NM poll showing Dubya up by one, despite all the months of attacks.
