STAFFERS and supporters for then-President Bill Clinton used to enjoy repeating the adage, "No good deed goes unpunished."
Now they're proving the adage true, as Clinton administration biggies are signifying their intent to finger the Bush administration for not heeding their warnings on al Qaeda.

I was just reminded, on another thread, that at approx. day 72 into President Bush's term, the Chinese forced down one of our planes. His priority and attention was focused elsewhere for awhile.
I wonder how many others forgot ? Most definitely the Rats.

"Clinton's administration failed to prevent Osama bin Laden's operation from attacking the destroyer Cole, an attack that left 17 dead in 2000."
I'd like to point out that these were no 'ordinary' dead, these were soldiers, US Navy sailors!

One correction: the 1993 WTC bombing by al Qaeda had SEVEN victims. Monica Smith was six or seven months pregnant with a boy. Her family lost two members that day.
(I'm currently reading "Losing bin Laden" by Richard Miniter.) It makes me sad and angry to see how willingly the Dems use these tragedies for partisan purposes, and how they ignored the threat to real American people while they dithered about inconsequential matters.

(What do you call a President who ignored the threat of terrorism for 8 years? A miserable failure.)

YES, YES, I never got over that one either. At the time I chalked it up to Clinton being a dead duck, but, in all honesty, I never understood how it just seemed to be forgotten about afterward.
And the Embassies, what about them? Technically they are just as much a part of America as NYC or DC is. That got me too. Quite frankly I chalked that non-response up to the latent racism of liberals, since most of the people who were killed were Africans and not Americans.
Is is possible that these Clintonistas are fooling anyone with their unbelievable behaviour? It's a classic case of what in psychology is called "projection", ascribing your own flaws to others. It seems hard to see anything other than group mental illness as explaining the Democratic party these days.

"It should tell you something that Clarke doesn't blame the Clinton administration, even though Clinton failed to curb al Qaeda over eight event- rich years. As former Gov. Wilson noted, Clintonia is wandering into dangerous territory if it tries to paint Bush as somewhat culpable for the Sept. 11 deaths.
If it were preventable, Wilson asked, "Well then, why didn't Clinton prevent it?" Clinton, after all, had eight years to fight Osama bin Laden, and avenge the deaths of Americans killed in service to their country. Added Wilson, "There's a long record of the (Clinton administration) having ignored escalating acts of terrorism and making an inadequate response."
===
Exactly.
It takes a Democrat to ignore all the facts... and have the gall to blame Bush, but not blame Clinton.

Madelaine Albright testified today how that was a really bad day for her. Isn't that enough for you? You didn't seriously expect any actual ACTION from them, did you?
