WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Sen. Tom Harkin reacted Monday to accusations made by a former top Bush administration official.
President George W. Bush's former counterterrorism coordinator accused the Bush administration of failing to recognize the al-Qaida threat before the attacks of 9/11. Clarke said Bush has done "a terrible job on the war against terrorism."
Clarke made that charge in a critique of the administration's anti-terror efforts in a new book, "Against All Enemies."
He also claims the president pressured him to link Iraq to the attacks.
"These are really disturbing revelations, and if they are true, I think the president needs to answer to the American people," said Harkin.

Sandinista guy: 'You've got to win this. You've got to beat this guy. We need a new policy'
Harkin: 'We will give it to you but dont forget to register as a Democrat in a few states'

Harkin is a puke! Perhaps he should answer to the Iowa people how he "bought" his last re-election by handing out the "Tom Harkin Aid to Schools" grant money conveniently around the October, first of November time-frame. Every time I turned on the morning news, he was awarding more grants to area schools! What I think is really funny is there have been no mention of those same grants being handed out after the election was over!! And, by the way, since it is our money he was handing out, it really peeved me that he was using his name to promote our money being given back to our schools!

Thanks for the Harkin ping! He's rotten to the core, isn't he? And yes, his history with John-boy Kerry goes waaaay back.

"These are really disturbing revelations, and if they are true, I think the president needs to answer to the American people," said Harkin. That's easily the most non-partisan-puke statement I've seen attributed to the steaming Dung Heap in a long, long time. Yes, it's still partisan puke, but far from the usual rhetoric.
Someone must have gotten his meds tweaked.

Harkin is a despicable human being.I believe his wife also bears investigating over the period when she worked with the federal govt's overseas investment program. This was mentioned here on FR about 4 or 5 years ago.
