Condi Smacks Clarke on Fox'N Friends
Fox News Channel
Posted on 03/22/2004 4:12:01 AM PST by ReleaseTheHounds
Condi Rice was just interviewed on Fox'N Friends and she did a slam-dunk on Richard Clarke.
She properly noted that he had been Counter-Terrorism Czar for a number of years in the Clinton Administration and had plenty of opportunity to develop strategies to confront Al Qaeda which he (and that Administration) never pursued.
She acknowledged that Clarke had a number of "ideas" about confronting and combatting terrorism -- many of which the Bush Administration adopted. But they were a set of "ideas" not a comprehensive strategy which President Bush was looking for.
Typical Condi performance: flawless.

Meanwhile, flipping over to Imus, I find Andrea Mitchell basically endorsing and seconding everything Clarke is claiming. And now she's slamming Ms. Rice for not agreeing to give public testimony to the 9-11 Commission -- "it is so fair and balanced".
Please MSNBC: give us a break.

He was mainly in charge of cyberterrorism. (hacking, website defacing, etc.) What we're faced with is the "blood n guts" kind. Not exactly his forte'.

It's plain as daylight. This guy Clarke is pssed off because President Bush didn't chose him for Homeland Security Czar...
So now he's gambling that the Democrats (party of his heart) will win and then they will owe him this powerful job and we'll be back to the Clintonista mentality with regard to our national INsecurity.

Condi basically let us know that Clarke is a two faced liar.
He wanted a Deputy's position in the new Homeland Security, told her he supported President Bush, and now we know he is a liar.
Typical liberal when they do not get their way, slash and trash those who do not give them what they want.

And now she's slamming Ms. Rice for not agreeing to give public testimony to the 9-11 Commission -- Only testimony that would be damaging to the interests of the United States and the war on terrorism would be taken seriously by the press. Testimony that in any way made President Bush look good, or that made Bill Clinton look bad, would be dismissed as "political" or "self-serving," and turned into a story about how "Bush is politicizing the 9-11 commission."
(steely)

I was also surprised that Bernie or Charles didn't feed Imus a question about Mitchell's comment yesterday that H. Clinton was "interested" in the VP nomination with a view toward Kerry going down and she (HRC) taking the top nomination.

Agreed. Once again proving that the adults took charge in 2000, leaving behind the less skilled, small-time thinking, incompetents of the previous administration.

Mansoor IJAZ, just call Richard Clarke a liar!
To: ReleaseTheHounds
Mansoor Ijaz is calling Clarke a liar. Mansoor says he personally negotiated to get bin Laden during the Clinton years and he personally sat with an assistant to Condi.
He says Minter's book is the correct version of events; Clarke's is a fabrication.

Mansoor IJAZ, just call Richard Clarke a liar!
I JUST SAW THAT!!! MANSOOR WAS ON FIRE WITH ANGER! He said he will do whatever it takes to make Clark accountable for what he said. I didn't expect such a reaction from him.

Mansoor Ijaz now on FnF basically saying Clarke is a liar. Challenges him to go on the air with him and debate. Seems very fired up about it.
To: Just mythoughts
And earlier on Fox, Rick Leventhal (embedded reporter) said the Americans were greeted in every city they walked into last year with smiles, waves, and thanks.
A bad day for libs today.....
To: ReleaseTheHounds
Dr. Rice will be on CNN in a few minutes.
