Carter savages Blair and Bush: 'Their war was based on lies'
Drudge Report ^ | March 22, 2004 | Andrew Buncombe

Posted on 03/21/2004 6:32:50 PM PST by Bubba_Leroy

Jimmy Carter, the former US president, has strongly criticised George Bush and Tony Blair for waging an unnecessary war to oust Saddam Hussein based on "lies or misinterpretations". The 2002 Nobel peace prize winner said Mr Blair had allowed his better judgement to be swayed by Mr Bush's desire to finish a war that his father had started.

Yeah, I'm kind of wishing for an accident with a stapler gun and his tongue. Geez, what a tyrant-bootlicking numbskull he is!

Needs some copy editing:

Jimmy Carter, the worst US president of the 20th century, has wrongly criticised George Bush and Tony Blair for waging an "unnecessary war" to oust Saddam Hussein. Jimmy Carter, who gave away the Panama Canal, got duped by the Soviet Union on Afghanistan, and who let Iran and other countries fall to hostile tyrannies on his watch, criticized the liberation of Iraq as based on "lies or misinterpretations".

I lump Carter in with Cronkite and Andy Rooney. Andy says he doesn't like to be called "old".

Well I would call them "old fools", but I'll just settle for "fools".

However, senility doesn't strike too many young people:)

I'm a born and bred Democrat from a blue collar Union family. Jimmy Carter, a miserable excuse for an American president, cured me.

Carter is a terrorist appeasing, dictator loving leftist reprobate.

Yes, Indeed! You now, he was an awful President, but some in the media gave him credit for being such a great ex-President. We cant accept that anymore.

Carter is an awful ex-President, since he is willing to spread despair and validate anti-American sentiment. he lacks the class, gravitas and demeanor to temper his criticisms. He was not only unfit to be President, he is unfit to be an ex-President. Obviously the 1996 election was a mistake, made tolerable by history only be the fact that it permitted the great victory of Reagan in 1980.

"Our decision about energy will test the character of the American people and the ability of the President and the Congress to govern. This difficult effort will be the "moral equivalent of war" -- except that we will be uniting our efforts to build and not destroy."

Allowed three countries to fall to communism under his watch: Benin, Nicaragua, and Zimbabwe.

Dont forget the communist takeover of Grenada.

"It is extremely rare for a former US president to criticise an incumbent, or a British prime minister."

Not if you are a democRAT, though.

Someone ought to remind the senile old thumb-pounder that he is the one responsible for letting these radical islamists get the upper hand by handing them Iran back in the late 70s.

My advice to ANYBODY who claims to have been attacked by a killer rabbit while rowing a boat on a lake: cut back on the reefer.

In fact, democrats seem to have some sort of an inherent problem dealing with water. Driving off of bridges is one facet of it; getting run over by enemy warships is another. I can't picture anybody not seriously stoned in a PT boat getting run over by a destroyer in calm waters and claiming that he just didn't notice the destroyer.

I would like to apologize for voting for Carter. I was young, I was stupid and I was very stupid. I will say I may have been stupid when I voted for in 76 i did not repeat that mistake.

Wouldn't this be an appropriate time to initiate a revival of the late great John Ritter's staring role in AMERICATHON?

That satire of Jimmah Cotter's abject failure as America's "Clown Prince" is a cult classic!!! I suppose it's on Ebay, but it's illustrative value just went way UP!!!

Jimmy Carter is a total fool. He lost Iran to the band of lunatic ayatollahs who are threatening us now, let a bunch of fanatic ragheads make us look like fools, permitted them to loot and sack the U.S. embassy and take Americans hostage and he has the GALL to insinuate he is competent to critize this President?

That's as laughable as Ted "The Swimmer " Kennedy ion the Senate Ethics committee.
