Defending Sen. John Kerry against charges he fabricated claims of meetings with foreign leaders who offered their political support, Sen. Ted Kennedy said Sunday that the Central Intelligence Agency will verify Kerry's account.
Asked to identify the leaders Kerry met with, Kennedy told NBC's "Meet the Press," "The CIA knows it . They work for the president. They can give him the names of all of those countries."
Kennedy complained that the White House still hasn't identified the members of Vice President Dick Cheney's Energy task Force, or the White House official who leaked the name of CIA employee Valerie Plame.
But when pressed on Kerry's alleged meetings with foreign leaders, Kennedy reiterated the claim that the CIA will back his account up.
"He's obviously - he's met leaders over a period of time," he told "Meet the Press." "And anyone - the CIA knows who they - if the White House is really interested in those leaders, they control the CIA, the CIA gives them those lists."

The beauty of this story is that Kerry looks bad either way. Deny it, look like a liar. Admit it, and look like you're soliciting foreign influence over US elections. Americans on either end of the political spectrum don't really dig Monsieur Chirac being involved with our electoral process.
Let this story grow and grow!

The dims just don't get it, this gaffe from Kerry is killing him.
The dims should drop this gaffe like a hot potato.
They could have said it is true that there are countries don't like our policies now, but you know what, we will campaign in America, this election is for the American people to decide.
But no, they keep on digging, for Bush, this gaffe is a nice relief. Bush should keep on digging, digging real deep on the mistake Kerry gave him - the President should do it with wit and humor, I love the way he did that in Florida yesterday - the quote - "that's ok, I will keep my campaign in America" - is priceless.

Sen. Ted Kennedy said Sunday that the Central Intelligence Agency will verify Kerry's account. Thank you, Senator Kennedy, for stepping RIGHT IN IT again!
Actually, we don't need the CIA's report. Here's a photo of Kerry with his Foreign Leader Fan Club!

True, you can be certain that I would not call a man charged with the defense of my life a SOB...that can come back to bite you at a most unfortunate time.

"The CIA knows it ."
How come Mr. Kennedy is so willing to accept the intelligence of the CIA when it pertains to Mr. Kerry, but he won't accept it when it pertains to President Bush?
