New anti Kerry ad!
To: jmstein7
jm, this ad, and the others, are equal- if not superior- to any of the professionally produced ads I have seen so far. You might consider a standalone post of all the ads together, and petitioning the moderators to make them "float" or "stick" at the top of the activism sidebar, so everyone can find them easily.

For someone who's not going to tune in until just before the election, they may wounder what the narrator in the add is talking about... needs to include the Dems angry antics to really have an effect... maybe even compared to the calm and mature sounding President, VP and Powell... that'll really make them look ugly.

If the official Bush and Republican ads just had a bit of your edge and get to the point idea, GW would win big.
Dick Armey just spoke here in Milwaukee and said the party leadership was weak and had too many "bedwetters."

Good ad. The way things are going, Kerry will be polling single digits by the fall.

I really like the ad. But, can I make one suggestion? I would love to hear Dean doing his scream at the end of the ad. That would be an effective reminder of the Dems' idea of debate.
To: jmstein7
I agree with the primary message of the ad, which is that Democrats play people for saps. Unfortunately, I disagree with the final conclusion--a great many people know full well what policies the Democrats are pushing for and think they sound like good ideas.
Perhaps what's needed is to produce some 'fables' or stories, whose characters would not be explicitly identified but whose identities people should be able to infer. Write the stories in such a way that any liberals who find themselves offended have only themselves to blame for identifying with the evil characters. [E.g. when an ad accused "greedy mayors and corrupt politicians" of suing the gun industry, Mayor Daley squawked at being called greedy and corrupt--but why would he think the ad was talking about him?]
One fable I'd start with would be the story of a farmer who is accused by the townspeople of keeping a larger portion of each year's grain crop than anyone else. Never mind that he worked to produce the crop, or that he needs the grain to plant next year's crop. Allowing the farmer to keep too much of his crop is clearly detrimental to the townspeople.
Another story--though harder to tell in a suitable format--would be a story in which some nasty people plot in a back room to engage rent-a-mobs against businesses that don't pay them proper tribute. Of course, Hollywood does similar stories all the time with Republicans as bad guys; Republicans need to strike back.
Somehow, a lot of liberals need to be woken up the fact that they're being played for saps, and used by greedy people to extort money from those that needed, so the greedy people can pocket most of the money themselves. Not sure how best to do that, but if the facts can gain a foothold there could be a very rapid sea change in short order.

To: jmstein7
Good ad, good good good. Can you get the text to stand out more against the background? I'd go with Arial or another sans-serif font, as the lines are cleaner and fatter, maybe drop-shadow the text and have the images at 80 percent transparency over black background. Excellent effort, though - much appreciated.
You know, the Bush campaign should earmark a nice chunk of their warchest for funding these grassroots-generated ads in local cable buys. And if I were them, I'd even run them in safe red states, just to foster a national mood.
To: jmstein7
Great work, jmstein7!
Don't you just love it when "the other side" claims that truthful statements about Kerry's actual voting record in the Senate -- public record information -- constitute "attack ads." The record demonstrates that Kerry takes both sides of every issue (all the while stealthily advancing his left-progressive, socialist agenda); that he is a frank political opportunist who flip-flops whenever he perceives an advantage to himself.
But hey, that's not Dubya's fault. Why point the finger of blame at him? Doesn't make any sense at all.
