Homosexual kids' book now best seller

A day after a children's book about a homosexual prince finding his true love received national media attention, the colorful hardback rose to a surprisingly high No. 38 on Amazon.com's list of best sellers.
The book, "King & King," gained media coverage Thursday when a North Carolina couple expressed their outrage after their first-grade daughter came home from her public-school library with the book.
As WorldNetDaily reported, the book chronicles the adventures of Prince Bertie, who waves off a bevy of eligible princesses before falling for Prince Lee, the Associated Press reported. The book ends with the two "marrying" and sharing a kiss.
"I was flabbergasted," parent Michael Hartsell of Wilmington, N.C., told the news service. "My child is not old enough to understand something like that, especially when it is not in our beliefs."
AP reported the 32-page book by Linda De Haan and Stern Nijland was published in March 2002 by Tricycle Press, the children's division of Ten Speed Press of Berkeley, Calif. A follow-up, "King & King & Family," was recently published. The publisher says the book is intended for readers age 6 and up.
It was unclear if a special-interest organization was buying up copies of the children's book or if individuals were purchasing it. As of yesterday, "King & King" was just edging out former Bush Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill's new book, "The Price of Loyalty," on the list and was hot on the heels of humorist Al Franken's "Lies and Lying Liars Who Tell Them."
The book stood at No. 350 on Barnes and Noble's sales list still a respectable standing considering the tens of thousands of books the company sells.

I am so glad that my kids are out of school. I don't think that I could handle the situation in the public schools now days.
The quality of public school education is inversely proportionate to the growth of the NEA.

Can anyone tell me how not to lose my temper, when hard-core Demoncats start complaining about this kind of stuff?
When I mention it is the Democrat Party that pushes this agenda, they act as, if I am nuts, and laugh in my face.
I have lost 2 very good friends over politics, in the past 10 years. They refuse to believe the truth, and don't even want to hear the truth.

I think that you make a major mistake, making this a Republican Democratic issue. I wish that it were, at least in the sense that one party would take a clear cut stand against it. But neither has! And your focusing on politics will tend to defeat your point with people whom you are trying to convince to help clean up the schools.
On the other hand, I think that local candidates would be well advised to take this up, stand up to the expected smears from the media, and persist until at least in their own communities, they prevail. But in this, as in many other areas of modern American life, it looks like Conservative citizens are going to have to find a way to lead the politicians, not the other way around.

After that bru-ha-ha about some lady writer being shocked to find that she didn't have an automatic entitlement to her book being purchased by every library in the USA (because her chidren's book mentioned mentioned a gay couple)... I haven't heard that one. Got a link?

...fully KNOWING that the Lord Jesus Christ is in control...True, but remember who has been given temporary dominion over the earth; he's the ultimate source of this stuff. The commands in Genesis are to subdue the earth; be fruitful and multiply. Everything the enviro-wackos, animal "rights" activists and homo's support are in opposition to these commands.
As to 13 y/o girls and 75 y/o women... a 13 y/o can't think critically yet, and I'm stunned at the number of oldsters, including WWII vets who are almost socialists ("profit" is dirty).

As time goes by, the vile anti-social behavior of Queers steadily gets worse and worse . . . as this current FReeper article demonstrates!!! Therefore, allow me to repeat my own personal rant one more time:Oak Hay, so I'm very disturbed and continually puzzled about how a small bunch of contrary to nature freaks can destroy our entire civilization. . . BUT DAMMIT, THEY'RE DOING IT !!!
These unsavory and unclean sub-human creatures delight in ramming their urine exhaust pipes into the rectal relief tubes of young boys (and of each other) !!! They brag and crow loudly about their filthy behavior !!! They demand access to our young and innocent children... so they can commit sodomy and oral sex acts upon them!!! Then they scream and holler...
"Homophobe"
... when we seek to save our children from their filthy and immoral activities!!! WHY IS THIS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE IN THIS ONCE-FREE REPUBLIC ??? DO WE NOT HAVE THE RIGHT AND MORAL DUTY TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN FROM SLIME LIKE THIS ???

I'm sorry that I don't.
This made it onto some of the talk-radio shows maybe 3-4 months ago (Medved? Hewitt?).
I apologize, but the choicest aspect that I recalled was that this lady writer had
produced a children's book that had sold fairly well.
Well, in a subsequent children's book, she just has to slip in a line or two about
a gay couple (that children's book was set in the Bay Area, IIRC).
To cut to the chase, the controversy arose when the writer and her publishers realized
this second childrens book just wasn't being purchased to be added to the collections of
public library.
Of course, the writer is Shocked, Shocked, I tell you, that she's being censored.
Never mind that she or her publisher could chug out millions of copies
and distributed them if they so chose.
Sorry I don't have time to track it down, but I suspect that if you are
truly desirous of tracking it down, you might try something like the website for
the American Library Association and see any sort of listting they have
about "censorship" regarding childrens books.

In order to combat this cancer, it is helpful to know the history of how we arrived here.
Please read "SEX EDUCATION The Final Plague" By Mrs. Randy Engel.
http://www.marianland.com/errors022.html "Proves why classroom sex ed. is always wrong and always harmful, that it destroys modesty, awakens the passions, promotes sexual activity and fosters acceptance of sexual sins. Shows where it comes from, who promotes it, that it is all-pervasive. Gives the Church's position, that sex education is the right and duty of parents only, which may be delegated to others, but never usurped! A must for parents, teachers and priests."
