THE SITUATION ROOM (Operation Iraq Freedom) 1 YR AGO

Tonight is the one-year anniversary of the commencement of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Where are all the Sit Room regulars?! I thought it might be a good idea to resurrect the Situation Room for a "reunion". Does anyone still have a ping list?
I just walked by the TV and they were showing that camera on ACHMED's PARKING GARAGE! (Alas, no Achmed). No hammering could be heard at the time. I haven't seen any "traffic circle" shots yet, but they'll have to show them eventually.
But PRETTY CHICKEN was one of the correspondents recalling where he was that night (under his bed)!

Thanks for the memories.I was so new,and found that sharing a war can be much better than worrying about or supporting our troops alone.God bless our armed forces and I thank them for the magnificent job.

Dear Lord, please protect my brothers and sisters who have given the ultimate sacrifice winning freedom for the Iraqi people. Comfort them, and let them know they died honorably and for a good cause.

"For old times sake - and to remember the times we had -- and the people we lost." Indeed. And lets also recall the lies that we were told by the news media:
"It's too hot to wage war in Iraq"
"It's a quagmire"
"Hussein will use the WMD's that he doesn't have"
"I voted for the $87 Billion before I voted against it"
"It's a unilateral invasion"
"The Iraqis all support Saddam"
"Iraqis are better off with Hussein in power"

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was watching and listening to the parking garage camera, hearing funny metallic sounds and what sounded like thunder but was really the wind blowing into the microphone, and I was replying to some guy who thought the wind blowing into the microphone was bombs falling, telling him to get a grip, and I had just hit "post", when suddenly...BOOM! Then BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Scared the bejeezus out of me, especially since we've got a decent sound system on this computer, with a subwoofer and everything. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! And I thought, I don't know if technology is so wonderful, that we can see and hear a war, LIVE, coming right through our computers. It didn't stop me from watching and listening, though.

Time for remembrances, yes, it is. :-)

The night(early morning) we had Dr.Bob Arnot live describing a fire fight he was in the middle of,and grabbing a mother and child to run for the ditch,my heart rate took a day to settle down.
