Dear Lord, please protect my brothers and sisters who have given the ultimate sacrifice winning freedom for the Iraqi people. Comfort them, and let them know they died honorably and for a good cause.

"For old times sake - and to remember the times we had -- and the people we lost."

Indeed. And lets also recall the lies that we were told by the news media:

"It's too hot to wage war in Iraq"
"It's a quagmire"
"Hussein will use the WMD's that he doesn't have"
"I voted for the $87 Billion before I voted against it"
"It's a unilateral invasion"
"The Iraqis all support Saddam"
"Iraqis are better off with Hussein in power"

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was watching and listening to the parking garage camera, hearing funny metallic sounds and what sounded like thunder but was really the wind blowing into the microphone, and I was replying to some guy who thought the wind blowing into the microphone was bombs falling, telling him to get a grip, and I had just hit "post", when suddenly...BOOM! Then BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Scared the bejeezus out of me, especially since we've got a decent sound system on this computer, with a subwoofer and everything. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! And I thought, I don't know if technology is so wonderful, that we can see and hear a war, LIVE, coming right through our computers. It didn't stop me from watching and listening, though.

Thanks for the ping and the thread. I don't know what I would have done without these daily threads and the comfort, wisdom and humor of those who participated.

It is hard to believe that a year has gone by. My heart and prayers are with all of those families whose lives have been changed forever by losses in Iraq. My earnest hope is that the people of Iraq will forever honor their memories by living free.

I was here, with Foxnews instead of the Bagcam, reading every post of those 5000+ threads.

The real Shock and Awe was the magnificent planning and execution of that march to Baghdad by our troops, and by our Pentagon and Administration leaders.

It was so well done, that they made it look easy. Thus the America haters now dismiss it as nothing, instead of marveling at the surgical precision used in liberating a people from their oppressive, criminal leaders.
