It is my prayer that you will come to Jesus with empty hands of faith, bringing nothing but your sins to the cross. Only then will you know the peace of God which surpasses all understanding.

Right back atcha. My relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church is as sound as any sinner can hope.

In my opinion, I find it quite a coincidence that Gregory XIII had a dragon on his coat of arms and that he happened to be the one wanting the calendar changed, thus it was named after him. Matching right up with one of Daniel's prophecies, about the beast changing times and laws. (The law that was changed was the Sabbath.)

LOL

We are through the looking glass here, Salve. Black is white, up is down, etc....

How about refuting 1,116 and 1,124 then!

LOL You didn't even begin to refute them. I think I know why....

Ya can't!

See ya.

How does one refute the dripping rantings of a small, diseased mind?

Sadly, however, it will be welcomed and praised by many who ought to know better."

No, it's not a perfect moive about Jesus, but if it brings people to Christ, then I'm all for it.

Sin is sin, pet. Scripture tells us that all sin is equal in the eyes of God. And that isn't the point. Whether you want to bicker about types of sin or not, it says just what I said - that the Eucharist forgives sin. Slice dice or twist as you please, that's exactly what all the citations state - that it forgives sin. You may wish to argue it only forgives a type of sin - That is a difference without a difference. Sorry. It ain't flyin.

So you don't know what venial sin is. I suspected as much.

Sin is sin

Hmmm, let's take a look at that:

Joe becomes frustrated in a traffic jam and lets slip three words in his anger: "God damn it."

Jim becomes frustrated in a traffic jam and pulls a pistol from his pocket. The driver who cut him off gets a bullet in the head.

But hey, a sin is a sin...justice says they are punished equally.

The Bible teaches that the spiritual consequence of every sin is the death penaity, eternal separation from God in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14-15); "The soul who sins will die," (Ezekiel 18:4); "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23).

This is not to say that every sin is equally wicked ot God. Scripture teaches that some sins are more evil than others and will be juged accordingly (John 19:11; Matthew 10:15). Jesus taught that there will be degrees of eternal punishment in hell (Luke 12:47-48).,

Nonetheless, the Lord never distinguished between sins in terms of their ultimate penalty. Jesus taught that every sin warrants eternal punishment in hell. He taught that the sin of anger brings the same punisghment as the sin of murder (Matthew 5:21-22), and the sin of lust the same penalty as the sin of adultery (Matthew 5:27-30).

Roman Catholicism, on the other hand, teaches that some sins are "light sins," minor infractions of the moral laws of God . Telling a small lie or stealing something inexpensive is somehow different from tellnig a big lie or committing grand theft. Small sins, venial sins, do not bring eternal punishment.

They teache that not even the regular practice of venial sins warrants eternal punishment. A baptized Catholic who does not commit a mortal sin remains in a state of grace even if he is habitually guilty of a multitude of venial sins.

No, I'm fully aware of Catholicism's redefinition of Venial and Mortal sins. Unfortunately, scripture says quite another thing. It is written:

Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all.

Romans 6 says the wages of sin is death - that is all sin just as James 2 states - if you offend on one part of the law you offend on all. It's all the same. The only difference listed under Grace (which we are now under) is the sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit. It isn't different, it just isn't forgiveable. That is what scripture states. As I said, you guys have a whole different system of sin that is found nowhere in the NT. It is rather more similar to the definition from the Law wherein there were sins that were unto physical death (ie homosexuality, necromancy, etc.) and Sins that were not unto death (not resting on the sabbath). That went away with the law. We are not under the law. As Christians, we have never been under the law. And therein is the error.
Sorry, but the Apostles address this plainly.

Paul made it clear that you cannot mix grace with works: "For it is by graceyou have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no onne can boast" (Eph. 2:8-9); "He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy" (Titus 3:5); God ""has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of ..anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace" (2 Tim. 1:8-9); "And if by grace, then it is no longer by works" (Romas 11:6).

Amazingly, the Catholic Church condemns and curses anyone who believes the wonderful truths revealed in the above verses

It is you guys who are not allowed to read and use your brains.

That's another piece of propaganda. Catholics are not allowed to read the Bible? Nothing of that sort. We are free to read and to question.
The minute you have a thought contrary to the teaching of your church, you stand on the verge of being condenmed to Hell by them - excommunicant.

Not really, where do you get your material from? It's wrong. Stop hauling around medieval propaganda.
The problem is you aren't allowed to speculate as to whether Rome is right or not.

You mean we aren't allowed to question the capital of Italy? Silvio Berlosconi is the head of the Italian govt in Rome, so all Catholics follow Silvio????

When the Pope makes a proclamation, it is backed up by hours of debate amongst the college of Cardinals and many times with the help of learned members of the laity. He doesn't go about asking folks who don't know their scriptures very well for all of their half-formed opinion.

Half knowledge is dangerous. You must know the entire structure before you can comment on one column

So you alone among men do not have to interpret scripture.

Havo-uh-Akbar. H (pbuh) does not need to interpret scripture - he taught it to His Profit Reg (pbuh).

No seventy-two oat bran muffins for YOU when you get to nirvana! I'm crushed. I need to redouble my efforts studying the Book of Havoc and hope to partake of His limitless benificence.

You must conduct 6 Havajjs to Mucker and ask the great Profit Reg (pbuh) to gather the munificence of his please and grant you the sacred words "Answered. Next"

Now, for your subservience, you are to recite five Hail REGGIES and deliver seven inane misinterpretations of scripture, before a laughing crowd of non-believers, crying and condeming them all the while.

oh, you are too kind to us worthless pieces of scrap potato peels. So it is 5 Hail Regs and 1 Our Havoc?

It all fits the same pattern. I wonder if this guy is really a Muslim just trying to make Christians look bad.

It is possible. The slammmies are so brainwashed. I had a Muslimm friend once who showed me this book in English that they're given to talk about other faiths. The part about Christianity is filled with the same lies Havoc is spreading.
Namely:
  1. We worship three Gods: God, Jesus and Mary(???)
  2. The Bible is inaccurate as it was written after Christ (they tend to forget that the Koran was jotted down a century after Mo and it's got no chronological order)
  3. That Jesus never claimed to be the Messiah (completely ignoring John 4:25-26, Matthew 9:2, John 8:57-58
  4. That Jesus was never really crucified, but God replaced him with someone else who looked like him at the last moment and he was saved and went laughing away (it actually says that), sheesh. (they borrow this from the Arian heresy, showing the dangers of heresies. And while I do not condemn my Protestant brothers, I do wish that they would rejoin the church, otherwise they are splintering up and leading to blasphemies like what the ECUSA is doing.)

Havoc (#1054): Can't refute the scriptures, so as the pharisees with christ, you attempt to refute me with personal attacks and slurs.
Havoc (#1094): Need a hammer and nails? Trees are a dime a dozen.
Havoc (#1102): Hey, I didn't claim to Be Jesus. The problem for you is, what if I were? Look at the topic of this thread. Not one of you had the sense to even question if I might be right.
Havoc (#1104): I have no reason to backpedal. None whatsoever.
Reg (#1105): The point is you long ago gave away any pretense of independant thinking. You gave your will and intellect to your Bishops and will dance to any tune they play.

Havoc (#1114): God loves ya. But you might consider finding Christ. Cause this thread is a really bad witness for ya'll.
Havoc (#1117): Hmm, who do we believe - the guy that gives us the straight dope on salvation, or the ones that condemn us for believing him. Tough choice.
Havoc (#1135): Thank you again kind sir. You are a wonder to behold :) LOL

I'm compiling the collected sayings of Havoc and his Profit Reg (pbuh), the SCARY-aah. This will be an accompaniment to the KORN which contains Surahs ans Suptras about Vicki, Luci and the Hell time orchestra.
