Gibson's passion film 'too Catholic'

THE controversial Mel Gibson film 'The Passion of the Christ' has been dismissed by the Evangelical Protestant Society as a 'Catholic' interpretation of events which "does not present the Gospel".
Wallace Thompson, secretary of the Evangelical Protestant Society, said the film displayed "an un-Biblical fixation on Mary, the mother of Jesus. None of this should surprise us, for both Mel Gibson and Jim Caviezel, who plays the part of Christ, are enthusiastic devotees of the traditional teachings of the Church of Rome."
He further claims that Mel Gibson "belongs to an ultra-conservative Catholic group which does not recognise the reforms of Vatican II, and celebrates Mass in Latin".
Mr Thompson says that "this malign influence of Rome ought to cause all evangelical Protestants to reject The Passion of the Christ" and refuse to be swayed by the subtleties of the alleged arguments in favour of it.
Sadly, however, it will be welcomed and praised by many who ought to know better."
Mr Thompson also says that the film is "extremely violent", and that "anyone who watches it will be shaken and possibly terrified by its graphic and bloody scenes."

He is the source of his own perfect authority. Havoc has initiated the world and all the Truth therein.
True and he does answer all questions with the same mystical answer:
Asked and answered. Next.

I am quite satisfied as to what you have proffered: All of christendom is bound by your own personal interpretation of scripture. Having been presented with epic expanses of hubris such as yours, laughing at you is all that remains.
Stop, please stop, I'm gagging myself with my handkerchief to stop from laughing too loudly

Havoc writes:
Havoc is not the source. Havoc provided you with enough information to research it yourself in order to satisfy yourself as to what I've proffered. Instead of doing so, you attack and besmearch myself and said source. You have no interest in the fact, your interest is the attack. Just as you had no interest in the point of contention only in where you could find fault on a peripheral matter. Now, I'm off to eat. Perhaps you can recover yourself some level of honesty in that time? No?
As in the Pope praying to Mary for his salvaton?
Let's review.
A tape of a debate between Dave Hunt and a Roman Catholic is offerred as "proof" that the pope prays to Mary for his salvation.
No date of the debate is provided.
No transcript of the debate is provided.
No link on the web to information about the tape is provided.
A search of the Vatican web-site is done (not a full search) and the source document cannot be found.
Yet, the information is being offerred as fact:
You have no interest in the fact, your interest is the attack
would seem to be the fallacy of argumentum ad ignorantiam - something is true, because it has not been proven false. And if the claim that the Pope prays to Mary for his salvation is said enough times, perhaps it is true? No, not quite that, either, as that is the fallacy argumentum ad nauseam.

Well, I have to admit that I am only paraphrasing a line from an old MASH episode. I did like that show, but it was so stinking liberal!

Yes, but He (Havoc, peace be upon him) heard the tape. That is all the proof you need.

More words of wisdom from the great one
This centers on Christ. Rome should be glad Mel didn't present their doctrine of the Eucharist in all it's splendor. He'd have gone broke.
You see Mel would have been Roman with Vicki and Julie.....

Perhaps we should just comtemplate the mystery of our new Lord. I am now assuming the contemplative position... Hey! I think I hear angels singing! Or is that just REGGIE, the Vicar of Havoc?

And, Oh, how He fulfills our needs! Havoc-hu Akhbar! There is no God but Havoc, and REGGIE is his prophet!
I tried to strap on a bomb belt, but that puckering belly button of mine keeps knocking it off.
I hate it when that happens!

To: OLD REGGIE
"The fact is, in the numerous instances where months and years passed, including the "Diocletian persecution", before a new Pope was elected, the primary reason was internal power wars and political infighting within the ranks of the RCC."
And Napoleon kidnapped the Pope for political and anti-religious reasons: when the Pope died in captivity, they thought they had destroyed the Church. Well, they didn't; another Pope was elected. (Not an internal battle unless you say Napoleon was acting because of his Catholic beliefs; he did repent later before he died -- in exile.)
AND there are battles within the Church, guess why?? Because there are some, even within the heirarchy, who have lost their faith, and rather than having the intellectual honesty to leave Her, try to do damage to Her from within. (One example: Windswept House, a novel by Malachai Martin). Pope Paul VI said the smoke of Satan had entered the Church. So you are going to blame the Church because she contains some wicked members who use their positons and talents to harm Her??
POINT: the Holy Spirit protects the deposit of the faith during such times. Always has, always will! The Church continues, and the succession is there for all to see.

Some more words of wisdom, or to put in it the short form: WOW:
Havoc (post #827): In the time of the Apostles, Asia turned away from Paul's teachings. Asia ain't tiny.
Cronos:
This shows your lack of knowledge. Asia at that time meant only Asia Minor, only the Greek city states, only what is now the coast line of Turkey. He did NOT mean the entire continent of Asia.
I think the laughs started rolling from post #929

True, the Great Prophet (pbuh) teaches us the right way to follow the Shariah and not question the sayings of Chaos/Havoc or else we get our heads chopped off. What the geat Havoc and his reg says is all true and we should not question. If we do then we are being mislead by the Great Satan, or, the Great Vicki as she's also known
