WASHINGTON -- Chances seem dim for a U.S. investigation into the death of The Evergreen State College student Rachel Corrie, who was killed trying to stop an Israeli Army bulldozer from demolishing a Palestinian home last year. The Israeli government called her death an accident and ruled out charging the soldiers involved in Corrie's March 16, 2003, death.

Hasan Mansori, government affairs coordinator for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said Corrie's death has generated "a lot of dialogue among people about the volatile situation in the Middle East." Gee, CAIR is found slithering about within this cause. What a surprise.

Why in the world would this private citizen's actions undertaken in a foreign country in which she was aware of risks ever be grounds for government action or investigation?

A couple of months back, someone posted an e-bay ad for the Rachel Corrie watch. The ensuing 100+ post were some of the funniest I have ever read on FR..

What's there to investigate. The ding-bat stood in front of a friendly tank in enemy territory. This ding-bat is one of those who make a strong case for abortion.

Corrie was fighting for tunnels, not a home. Tunnels that were used to sumuggle bomb-making materials to kill Israeli civilians. Corrie's death was was an enemy casualty in the War on Terrorism and should be celebrated the same way we celebrate Abu Abbas' death (or whatever his name was).

There was a great piece on the WSJ op-ed page the other day about Ms. Corrie, by an Israeli thanking her for showing Israelis the meaning of "peace," ie, bombs, dead children, etc.
Ms. Corrie's loss is undoubtedly sad for her family and friends. However, she was a fool for going into a war zone, and worse, was complicit with terrorists, who deprived others of their loved ones.
As the WJS article brought out, she attended Evergreen State College. Need any more be said?
