For the record, the next scheduled FRN Chapters coordinated nationwide demonstrations are planned for Sept. 11, 2004. The last one was March 23, 2003. That's a year-and-a-half between efforts. Good job.

I've tried to get people to protest before here and it would be easier if you asked them if you could pull their teeth. For every 10 people that say they are thinking about it, 0 will show. The only way you will have a chance of getting people is to get on Lars, Victor Boc's and Jayne Carrol's show.

Good job. For the record, the last "coordinated nationwide demonstrations" prior to the hugely successful "Rally for America" in March '03 were the election demonstrations in November '00. Individual chapters conduct impromptu rallies when they think they are necessary but nationwide efforts are only planned when the issue is compelling.
Calling for weekly or monthly "nationwide rallies" would burn people out and is a bit like crying wolf, although chapters are free to do so if they wish. The FRN chooses to pick and choose it's battles carefully and demanding constant, willy nilly street activism without any consideration for message or strategy is foolhardy. We prefer our affiliates consider us measured and professional rather than loose cannons.
And, we don't attack and criticize people for not showing up to an event we've called. If we haven't done our homework and prepared an action that people feel is critical and compelling, we have no one to blame but ourselves. Blaming others in childish tantrums is unprofessional and counter productive.

I wanted to wish you good luck on Saturday.
I'm in Bandon and unable to attend.
I have gone, since Oct 2001, to Coos Bay every Thur
(sometimes more) as part of the Coast Guard Auxiliary
and donate my time on the Coast Guard base working in the Operations Office.

Have a great day confronting the anti-war protesters. Please ping me to your after-action report.
It is so important to confront the anti-war movement which unconditionally supports the terrorists and insurgents in Iraq who are killing our coalition soldiers, foreign workers and Iraqi civilians.

What's so funny about your inane reply on this thread is the time and energy you spent on your Clintonian attempt at character assassination.
But thanks for bumping the Portland thread. And, BTW, GTH.

Bob, you guys spend more time discouraging activism than encouraging it. If it were up to you, the anti-American leftist demonstrations would have gone unchallenged since 9/11. It was FReepers who ignored you that seized the moment and put the left on the defensive by getting out there and exposing them for what they are.
They'll be ignoring your advice again this weekend, too. And good for them, because it'll be good for the country.
As for your lecture about "attacking" people, that's rich coming from you. Very rich.

You'd be a lot more effective if you spent less time sniping at FReepers and the Network. Get over it.
