I can't figure out why the media is giving this guy so much air time, considering what he did TO the NYT.

He lied, plagiarized, destroyed his own credibility. Yet, the media is parading him. His book was in the 600's and rose to the mid 300's on Amazon.com last week.

When Doris Kearns Goodwin got caught, the media dropped her like a hot potato. She has since reappeared in short-term appearances.

Even the title of Blair's book shows a loud, racist agenda.

Parading Blair is supporting what Blair did and encouraging his actions. The media should have more integrity, especially after what Blair did and probably continues to do.

After 911, he was put out on the streest of New York for interviews with the people. Lo and behold, he drew none other than Blii Clinton to his camera and microphone.

Clinton muscled into the front of assembled group and with out batting an eye Brian shoved the microphone in his face and asked " Don't you feel responsible for the recent attack on America?"

This is too easy to pass on. As competition for consumers (viewers) has increased in intensity in proportion to the growing number of distibution sources (cable, satellite, and soon-to-be internet video), the media is pursuing a pandering style designed to maximize viewership.

OJ, Scott Peterson, Kobe, and other circus sideshows sell. They have throughout history. The press is as hypocritical as any other for-profit operation.

I can assure you of only one thing. Salacious types like the sleazy Jayson Blair must appeal--at some prurient level--to viewers in the demographic and time-slot of Fox & Friends. Otherwise he would not be on.

It is all about money.
