A PRAYER OF PROTECTION

The light of God surround you
The love of God enfold you
The power of God protect you
The presence of God watch over you
Wherever you are,God is,
And all is well.
Amen.

Bless This House

Bless this house O Lord we pray;
Make it safe by night and day;
Bless these walls so firm and stout,
Keeping want and trouble out:
Bless the roof and chimneys tall,
Let thy peace lie over all;
Bless this door, that it may prove
ever open to joy and love.

Bless these windows shining bright,
Letting in God's heav'nly light;
Bless the hearth a'blazing there,
with smoke ascending like a prayer;
Bless the folk who dwell within,
keep them pure and free from sin;
Bless us all that we may be
Fit O Lord to dwell with thee;
Bless us all that one day we
May dwell O Lord with thee.

Lloyd J. Austin III, right, commander of the 10th Mountain Division since August, is promoted to the rank of major general by Lt. Gen John Vines during a ceremony in Vagram, Afghanistan, on Sunday. Austin spent most of last year deployed to the Middle East as the assistant division commander of the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Ga.

The Inspector General's Office is looking into complaints that a prankster has caused the latest issued military fatigues to appear to be Extra's costumes from this summer's upcoming new movie "The Riddler joins the Army."

Lt. Col. Lindy Kirkland, left, and Maj. Rob Krieg are shown at Quantico, Va., on Tuesday. The two Marine aviators will attempt to fly 1500 miles and land on 100 Virginia runways in a 24-hour period next Tuesday to raise $100,000 for the charity Angel Flight East.

The Aviators searched in vain for R2D2's head which  mysteriously vanished after C3PO insisted that he could make minor repairs, and shortly later he left the area without a word. The Military Police are investigating!

A Marine reads a book while guarding the port in the city of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on Sunday.

One of the most popular books among the Marines is "The secret life of Walter Mitty" but many of the Troops found it to be a bit too fantastic.

Marines relax in Port-au-Prince on Sunday.

Some critics have complained that sending the Marines to an all-inclusive resort in Haiti was a bit extravagant, and a definite budget buster.

Soldiers frisk an Afghan man at a roadside checkpoint near Kandahar, Afghanistan, on Friday. The U.S. military announced a new operation in the south and east of Afghanistan targeting senior Taliban and al Qaida figures.

The high unemployment rate in Afghanistan has resulted in no shortage of applicants for the jobs of Scarecrows on remote fields in the Afghan countryside.

A Spanish officer stands near a tank during a patrol in Diwaniyah, Iraq, on Thursday. Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, whose Socialist party won Spain’s general elections, said Monday that he will recall Spain’s troops deployed to Iraq by June 30. Spain leads the Plus Ultra brigade, a command that also includes forces from El Salvador, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

The reign in Spain has been taken over by the Commies again.

A U.S. military patrol drives past a charred Syrian truck that was damaged by a roadside bomb in Baghdad on Sunday. Three soldiers escorting the convoy of trucks were injured in the attack, witnesses said.

Unfortunately, none of the Syrian wetbacks were fluent in the dialects of the remote Iraqi villages where the Troops were being deployed to, so none were hired.

A Humvee gunner from the 1st Cavalry Division yells to comrades while retreating from a stone-throwing mob outside Camp Bonzai, in Baghdad, on March 2. The Fort Hood-based 1st Cavalry Division will in the next few weeks take over control of all of Baghdad from the 1st Armored Division.

The new steering implements on the re-armored HumVees were received with glee by the Troops who largely agreed that the controls just felt "natural."

Just another day at the office for our Troops.

I am the very model of a modern Major-General,
I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I know the kings of England, and I quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical;
I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical,
I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical,
About binomial theorem I'm teeming with a lot o' news,
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.
