Media War Against Bush
The Reality Check ^ | 13 March 2004 | Randall H. Nunn

Posted on 03/13/2004 7:53:34 AM PST by Lando Lincoln

It is quite clear by now that the media elites believe they can oust President Bush by orchestrating a campaign against him that is unmatched in its scope and single-mindedness of purpose. Rather than changing their ways in response to the increasing criticism they are receiving because of their pervasive liberal bias, they are becoming more determined and more partisan than ever in their drive to install a far-left Senator with little experience and even less principle as president. The battle for the presidency will be between these liberal media moguls aided by the far-left anti-war, anti-Western radicals and average Americans of traditional values aided by talk radio, the Internet and the few unbiased media outlets like FOX News and The Wall Street Journal. In other words, principled middle America against the far-left ideologues.

The leftists in the media might have been able, once upon a time, to create a tidal wave of public opinion against Bush through a campaign of misinformation and bias, but with the Internet, talk radio and a network willing to give balanced coverage, they are in for a real fight. And hopefully, the results in November will go a long way toward breaking the back of the huge liberal spin machine that much of the media has become.

In the past year, we have seen scandals at The New York Times involving its senior management failing to supervise journalists, allowing and encouraging inaccurate and biased reporting to be published. We have had a number of books published detailing not just the liberal bias in the media but also the arrogance of those in the media who are the biggest purveyors of this bias. There are books about women in the media who spin their liberal webs of propaganda and attempt to set the political agenda for American women--a liberal agenda. Yet all of this criticism and all of the counter activity seems only to have infuriated the media bosses and elitists and they have reacted by abandoning any effort to be objective. It is as if the media elites are saying, "Let them eat cake" to the millions of us who now see and fully comprehend their excesses, unfairness and arrogance.

The way to defeat the liberal control of the mass media is to switch to talk radio, the Internet and FOX News as the communication channels of choice. We know that we will not see or hear objective reporting or commentary on the networks or in the “mainstream” press, so why spend any time listening to it? You will find that if you listen to FOX News channel instead of ABC, CBS, NBC or CNN, you will begin to feel optimistic again and proud of your country and the ideals of western civilization. And the best part is that you won’t be made to feel guilty about having such thoughts. Perhaps this will even lead to a restoration of objectivity in the press and on television and allow both to once again reflect the values of the people of this country and not just a handful of leftists seeking to condition us through skillful manipulation of what we see and hear each day in the media.

The Greek philosopher Archimedes once said, "Give me a point on which to stand and I will move the earth." The leftist media is saying "Give us the ability to control and slant the news and we will bend the minds of the young, the unsuspecting and the uncommitted to our political and social views." And their views will produce a generation of politically correct but feeble-minded dependents of the nanny state who will be only too glad to turn over personal responsibility to government and the elitists on the left.

The immediate objective for conservative Americans who believe in limited, constitutional government, individual liberty and traditional values must be to defeat the effort by the press to destroy President Bush. With the massive amounts of money being supplied by billionaire George Soros, as well as the Hollywood crowd coupled with the near-monopoly control of the networks, the task will be difficult. But the importance of victory could not be more clear. Weakness or failure of will by the United States would be disastrous at this point, both because of the tremendous lift it would give to our enemies worldwide and because of the blow it would deliver to the confidence of those Americans who have fought long and hard for the principles of freedom and liberty. But once this battle is won, conservatives need to take a serious look at our schools and universities, as well as the entertainment industry and popular culture because the rot that has set in there needs to be countered as well if we are to avoid having the leftist ideology forced on us through unthinking acceptance of it by a rising generation that has been propagandized by those in control.

This is truly a cultural war. And it is being fought on the left by a powerful and well-entrenched media that believes it holds the high ground and the advantage. But I am betting that the Internet, talk radio and FOX News can outflank the media's Maginot Line and free the millions of information-starved prisoners in their audiences from the gulags of bias and thought control that the media have created.

I have to get to the keyboard more. This culture war, media war is combining with the war on terror and the so-called "useful idiots" to create a frighteningly deadly situation.

This culture war, media war is combining with the war on terror and the so-called "useful idiots" to create a frighteningly deadly situation.

The most breathtakingly outrageous latest example is the Iraqi spy woman who worked with Democrats (high profile ones as a spokesperson, no less) and media, yet turned out to be Andrew Card's cousin. As soon as they learned that aspect, that is what became the lead.

Yes, it later became known that Card was involved in the story, as he had become aware that his distant cousin was possibly engaged in espionage and turned her in, but the first article I read informing me of the relationship did not mention that. They lead in the headline and first paragraph only with the "Iraqi spy linked to Bush WH chief of staff", then gave the cousin relationship. Finally in the middle of the story it mentioned the Democrats and media gigs.

I'm hoping that most people intuitively grasp that the fact that the woman was arrested points to this administration not being cahoots with her misdeeds, as the article plainly tried to imply. The headline should have been straightforward that a spy was arrested, or the Card connection should have strained to point out he immediately turned her in.

Revived Media Shenanigans ping - George Bush Has Got All That Money For Campaign Ads, But Poor Old John Kerry Has Only Got The Combined Advertising Power Of All The Alphabet Networks

On, Off, or grab it for a Media Shenanigans/Schadenfreude ping:

Swaying the opinion of the people with television doesn't really work. That's why they can only charge a pittance for 30 seconds of advertising during the Super Bowl. ;-)

But even Fox is succumbing to the liberal spin. This AM I heard that Kerry was "firing back against right wing attacks."

So far the bad guys are up two over GW; the flap over his 911 ad and the on-microphone comments that show Kerry as a victim of "right wing attacks" that forced him to be incontinent (I'm referring to his words not his prostate problems).

There is not a day that passes where I become more convinced that the liberals/socialists in this great nation of ours, are at least as big a threat to our security and freedom as any threat that we have faced since our beginning.

I am dead serious in this opinion.

The question is this: What the devil are we prepared to do about it?

Well spoken! I just sent $50.00 to the Bush2004 campaign. Their gonna need it. My fear is that these media types are not silenced by CFR. And the Dems aren't going to obey the law anyway. Bush IMO needs to use this time till September (60 Day limit) to solicit as much outside help to destroy Kerry similar to the unsolicited group that ran the Willie Horton ads for his dad. The media must be countered.

The most amazing example of the bias is on radio news at the top of every hour. Listening to Glen Beck yesterday at the 10 AM news break NBC Radio News reported "President Bush was on Long Island to dedicate a 9/11 memorial and to attand a FUND RAISER fueling controversy!!" You cant be more blatant than that.

Great Hit piece.

The words out and "they", the media elites know we know that its a Kultur/ Culture War. In fact the word has gained currency with Chris Matthews and others. All they have to do is read FR regularly to know this. Add the BBC to the mildly humiliated. Add the old network personalities who have exposed their old bosses.

"liberal webs of propaganda and attempt to set the political agenda for American women--a liberal agenda."

The Mc Carthy hearings were stopped before they were complete. The many “seeds” (read CELLS) were left to grow and multiply. Ronald Reagan and Walt Disney both testified at these hearings:
http://historymatters.gmu.edu/d/6458/

Mr. REAGAN: “Well, sir . . . 99 percent of us are pretty well aware of what is going on… ….with their usual tactics, trying to run a majority of an organization with a well organized minority”.
Mr. DISNEY: In my opinion they are Communists. No one has any way of proving those things.
The young radicals (communists/socialists) of the 60’s have graduated from college and have become college professors, teachers, lawyers, politicians, or the business world elite. They are taking OUR country away from us and saving it for the “Future owners”.

If conservative billionaires don't buy some of these networks, or start their own, we can do little to stop them.

But the left is winning this media campaign. What ever one thinks about either the accuracy or effectiveness of polls, it is amazing that a candidate of Kerry's background is doing so well. This so-called "50/50 Nation" is not that far to the left. I have been following American politics for close to 40 years and I have never seen anything like this. The media is so outrageously corrupt - my foreign friends often comment on it (and yes there are conservative foreigners that would like to see Bush reelected.)

I am beginning to think that the only way that the GOP can win this is to take the media's bias directly to the media on national air time and throw it in their faces. Imagine if someone like Gulliani took someone like Russet to task for it during an interview, or some one like Powell going around the country stumpimng on it? They may need a concerted effort to of just such tactics to turn this around.

It is certain that the GOP has made some mistakes in the campaign but they have not blundered to the point where they deserve the numbers that they are getting. The GOP congress critters on the hill are even starting to waffle. It is beginning to look as though Rove and Co. have underestimated the animus against them. They need to rally the GOP and the voters.

We need to realize what it will mean to the future of politics in this country if the media succeeds in this. It will set back conservative political action for quite some time and discourage people on the right from running for office. The GOP needs to address it in a straight forward manner.

It is amazing that every Bush add in subjected to days of media "analysis." I have yet to hear Kerry called on any of these outrageous antics. I thought the911 flap was unbelievable and borders on the criminal. Some one might have a little chat with the mainstream media's legal depts. and talk about RICO charges (a long shot I know, but at least it might get them to tone down a bit.) The hypocrisy of will not stand scrutiny if light is focused on it. If Bush tried any of this stuff the would be no end to it. Again, the GOP need to grasp that real damage is being done to the campaign by their tepid response to this campaign. The course is simple: call the media on their agenda. The need a stronger response. Too much is at stack for them to continue with these mushy responses.

But, this isn't the first time the media has supported the sleazes and opposed the good guys. In the past two presidential elections, they set up coverage the clearly tried to influence the outcome.

In 2000, the outfit they set up to question voters coming from the polls falsified the responses and indicated that Gore, not Bush, was winning. The reports from Florida were designed to make Nader voters in California stay home. It was a dishonest and blatant attempt to influence the outcome of the election. Where's the surprise?

They did it to Reagan, too.

I was younger, and not immersed in politics like now, but I remember jaw-dropping moments of mental disconnect as the media would report something one way while my lying eyes and ears told me something else.

They have stepped it up a notch or three, there's no denying, but I say again: They tried this with Reagan, too, the he's dumb, he falls asleep at meetings, he'll blow the world up, and so on and so on and so on and so on. Despite clinton getting elected, I try not to underestimate Americans and I think the truth will triumph, but it will take unrelenting and unremitting work to make sure the message gets out.

Yes but never like this. Not even during the Reagan years. As I said in a prior post the only way it to take it back to the media. A Bush loss will do such damage to th conservative movement in this country, particularly to a person like Kerry. For a president that has accomplished so much and to have such a clear choice of alternatives to loss to a flack like Kerry will be a disaster to us. This election will set the course of the is country for at least a decade and maybe a generation. Rove and Co. need to understand that they are fighting for the life of the nation and do whatever is necessary.

The democrats and their media wing are going for broke this cycle. These people don't even care if their bias is blatantly obvious.

This seems to be the last assault of the socialist party here in the us. If they lose they are done for a VERY long time. If they win, they will NEVER give up power again. (I hope you can imagine what this means)

This really is kinda scary. We are up against a FULL assault of ALL the socialists resources used to their MAXIMUM extent. We may not win round one of this fight.

If we do fail to beat the socialists this country is in DEEP trouble, they will make sure they never lose power again. The constitution will be no obstacle.

I think every one of us has contemplated the need for armed revolution at one point in time. The thoughts are never turned into action because we can see a light at the end of the tunnel. If we fail THIS time, that light will be a train.

Kerry is not just a socialist he is a full fledged Marxist. He and his followers will NOT let the law or the constitution stand in the way of gaining power and KEEPING it. Democrat vote fraud is a problem now, if they win it will be SOP. Conservative voices WILL be taken off the air through the use of "the fairness doctrine" and other restrictions, regulations and guidelines. Web sites like freerepublic will be taken down through the courts and BS lawsuits by willing leftist judges. The US will become subject to the ICC. These people cannot be allowed to win.

Consider this a warning of impending danger. We must do EVERYTHING to defeat it while we can still do so peacefully. Also consider this a "heads up". Start getting in shape, lose some extra pounds. Maybe go a little more often to the rifle range to hone your skills. If you don't have a firearm, this might be a good time to buy one. Those with family members in the military might want to bring up some subjects with them to get a feel for what they might do. Officers are the priority here. The more knowledge the military members have about the situation the less likely they are to believe the propaganda from the socialists.

Think it over...

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."
- Churchill

This quote outlines every decision we have to make.

I posted this to a previous thread but thought it appropriate for this one as well. We have ALL thought about the need for this some day. The founders gave us the 2nd because they KNEW we would need it some day. If the Marxists take control in November we WILL need it.
