WASHINGTON (CNN) -- This week's deadly train bombings in Spain will not lead to a rise in the U.S. color-coded terror threat alert system, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Friday.

"Based on the current intelligence, we have no specific indicators that terrorist groups are considering such an attack in the U.S. in the near term," said department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

Australia tightens train security

Sydney's commuter trains are considered vulnerable.

SYDNEY, Australia (Reuters) -- Australia, an ally of the United States in last year's invasion of Iraq, is tightening security measures to guard against attacks similar to last week's deadly blasts in Madrid.

New South Wales, where Sydney, Australia's largest city, is located, has removed rubbish bins from railway stations and put curbs on the use of public lockers.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- It started on my 42nd birthday -- Monday, Oct. 7, 1985. No sooner had I arrived at my office in the White House that morning, than the senior watch officer in the Situation Room called. No hard intelligence was available yet, but something was amiss in the Mediterranean. What we did know was that it was an Italian cruise ship, the Achille Lauro, and it was about 30 miles from Port Said, Egypt where four Palestinian terrorists had embarked carrying grenades, guns and ammunition. Years before Sept. 11, most passenger cruise ships didn't have the security procedures they do today.

Suicide bombers kill at least 7 in Israel

JERUSALEM (CNN) -- At least seven people were killed and 20 others were wounded Sunday in two suicide bombing attacks in the Israeli port city of Ashdod, Israeli police said.

Two bombers also were killed in the terror attacks, police said.

One blast took place inside the port, police said, and the other just outside the port.

The Islamic fundamentalist group Hamas and the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades -- a military offshoot of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement -- have claimed joint responsibility for the attacks, according to Lebanese television reports.

After terrorists opened the gates of hell in Spain on Thursday, Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar said at a news conference that he would bring the guilty to justice ("Rush Hour Terror," March 12).

Bringing the guilty to justice is not enough. For every guilty terrorist brought to justice there are thousands more eager to carry on the fight.

The only way to stop terror is to hunt down all of the terrorists and remove the regimes supporting them.

John Kerry doesn't understand this, which is why he cannot be trusted with the presidency.

RABAT, Morocco (AP) - One of three Moroccans arrested in connection with the Madrid train bombings was already being closely watched by authorities in his homeland, where he was suspected of ties to an al-Qaida-linked group, a Moroccan official said Sunday.
