WASHINGTON (CNN) -- This week's deadly train bombings in Spain will not lead to a rise in the U.S. color-coded terror threat alert system, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Friday.

"Based on the current intelligence, we have no specific indicators that terrorist groups are considering such an attack in the U.S. in the near term," said department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

The 90% ready is quite worrisome. Most people I talk to in the area that watch this stuff are worried. My alert level is as high as it's ever been. I have my supplies and plans in place and will put them into effect provided I survive the inital attack.

Can't help but wonder what the 10% is that's holding them back. Any thoughts on this?

I did a google search on Islamic 4515sb and came up with zot.

Then I did a google search on islamic sb and got multiple hits but still cannot figure what the sb stands for. Example:http://icpc.baylor.edu/icpc/regionals/RosterPublic.asp?ContestID=582

I do see where it could mean (south branch) on this particular site. However do a google search on islamic sb and see what you come up with.

It wouldn't GREATLY surprise me if ETA and AQ joined forces for an operation.

AQ, ETA, IRA, Shining Path, Red Brigade and many other terrorist groups work together. Politics is less important than being a terrorist. They have trained together, traded information and weapons for years.
That is why we must wage war on all terrorists, regardless of their politics, not just AQ.

They like symbolism. Combine that with the coverage of 'The Passion' for months, and Easter becomes the target date.

On the other hand, because they like symbolism, you are probably completely safe if you don't live in a city of over a million people.

Alleged Bin Laden Message Calls for Jihad Council




March 13 — DUBAI (Reuters) - Hitherto unreported parts of a message said to come from Osama bin Laden urge Islamic clerics and leaders to form a council to rally and arm Muslims for holy war against the West, an Islamic Web site reported on Saturday.
Al Jazeera television had in January aired parts of an audio tape that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency said was "likely" from bin Laden, leader of al Qaeda network. The Dirasat Web site carried the full text.





The message said the proposed council should help Muslim fighters obtain light arms, rocket propelled grenades and anti-tank mines.

"Scholars, influential leaders and merchants should meet in a safe place, far from the shadow of the tyrannical (Arab) regimes, and form a council to fill the void created by the toppling of these regimes or by their mental incapacity," the message said.

"Its priorities will be to unite Muslims, defend Islam, prepare for jihad and facilitate movement of weapons," it said, adding that the body could start on a small scale and then grow when circumstances were right.

Like the audio tape, the text urged Muslims to fight U.S. forces occupying Iraq.

"I call on the sons of Islam to isolate their leaders who relied on the unjust and to set up a strong and faithful leadership to defend Islam in these dire times," it said.

"The occupation of Iraq is only a link in the evil Zionist-crusader chain, then comes the occupation of the rest of the Gulf states ahead of enforcing hegemony and control of the whole world," said the message, addressed to the Muslim nation.

Bin Laden is being hunted by the United States for masterminding the September 11, 2001 attacks on U.S. cities.

Al Qaeda says the U.S.-led war on terror is a "crusade against Islam."

Your thinking is that they're just waiting on the go orders?

Yeah, waiting for the date with the greatest effect.

I don't think it will be massive. It would have been a lot easier for them to have aquired a nuke, for instance, raised the money to pay for it, and gotten it into the country before 9/11. If they couldn't do it then, they can't do it at all.

My guess is that they will try for places like Washington National Cathedral, St. Patrick's in NYC. It doesn't sound like much, but there will be thousands in each on Easter.

If they don't hit then, I think they will wait for the Olympics in Europe and the Political Conventions here. Nothing else will get them the worldwide publicity they want.

I'm not all that savy with twexus, but I noticed that on the first 3 search terms they were the last terms added.

I also don't know the significance of the numbers preceding the search terms.

U.S. Train Passengers Worry After Bombing

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Security officials stepped up safety measures at rail systems nationwide after the bombings in Madrid, but Amtrak conductor Larry Lindbloom acknowledges he's worried as he runs his daily route between San Diego and Los Angeles.

The route is one of the busiest on the West Coast and passes by a major military base and a nuclear power plant. Although Amtrak officials say they are confident in their security measures, the 15-year veteran conductor is not.

I've seen reports that the weapons are already in place. It would be a great relief to know they are not yet into the US.

I'm not sure if they are already in place or not. The 'mine shaft collapse' that triggered the 5.3 quake in Wyoming back in Feburary makes me think the weapons may already have been tested and are in place.

Thank you. I saw that but was hoping someone had a link to the primary source document. I located a graphic image of the letter that went directly to Al-Quds Al-Arabi.

The reason I was trying to do was eyeball the original is because there are two different Arabic characters for "s" and I wanted to see which was used in the original.

One of the "s" characters, the "seen" would give this one meaning, while the other, the "saad", would give it a different meaning.
