MATTHEWS: This doctrine of preemptive attack, this whole notion of forward leaning, the lingo of this, the WMD, the regime change, all this new language weve learn in the last years, do you think thats him or its the people around him...? ....
CUOMO: No, I think he was pushed by these people.
But I think he started with his ownthis is a terrible wordperhaps naive. He hadnt traveled around the world....See, what is now clear is, he is simply too simple, to the point of being simplistic.

CUOMO: (speaking of the tax cut to the "wealthy") They put it away. And so we say this. We want tax cuts? Yes, for you 140 million workers. Lets take the $1 trillion back from the rich people, who do not need it. Remember his first rationale in 2001? Im giving the money back because we dont need it.
MATTHEWS: Big surplus.
CUOMO: Well, he was wrong.
MATTHEWS: Well, he was right then, but the surplus has disappeared.
Note to Cuomo, when money is "put away," it isn't taken out of circulation. It is lent to others who use it to consume.
Note to Matthews, when tax cuts are used to reduce a surplus of money, the surplus of money disappears! If done right, you are left with...
nothing.
From Ronald Reagan... "The Speech" (October 1964): They say the world has become too complex for simple answers. They are wrong. There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right. Winston Churchill said that "the destiny of man is not measured by material computation. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we are spirits-not animals." And he said, "There is something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty."
In retrospect, I'll take Mario's criticism of W as a great compliment... he's more like Reagan than one might suspect.
Cuomo's way too cold and ugly to be this big a sanctimonious piece of lying crap. And, yet, I can't help but look forward to seeing Cuomo all over the airwaves campaigning for Miss Kerry.
If conservatives and the Bush team don't do a better job of countering it with the TRUTH, Bush will lose in November.
