A London-based Arabic newspaper says it has received claim of responsibility for the Madrid train bombings issued in the name of al-Qaida.

Seriously, I vaguely remember hearing something about Sept. 11 having meaning to Osama Bin Laden. Because thats when he was kicked out of Saudi Arabia, or disowned by his family or something like that.
But then again I could have been dreaming. :-)

My friend has family in Madrid and they are OK. They would have been with in 3miles of one of the attacks if not located before they went off.
