WASHINGTON -- Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has lent her name and presence to a lecture series co-sponsored by the liberal NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund, an advocacy group that often argues before the court in support of women's rights that the justice embraces.

Who else is bothered by the fact that Ginsburg's ties to NOW (clearly a partisan, activist group) is being compared to Scalia going fishing with the VP?

To me, she seems frequently to rule on the wrong side of issues. She seems about as liberal and activist as one can be.

I know that Scalia has Republican ties as well as business interests outside of the SC.
He always recluses himself from cases that have an present an appearance of conflict.
As long as RBG dose the same, I'm OK with it.

I saw a piece on FOX yesterday where the flap was over prospective jurors claiming they would "say anything" to get on the Terry Nichols jury...ostensibly to convict, regardless of the evidence.

Absolutely
I'm not aware of any cases she's recused herself from either, but I'm also unaware of any cases that she heard which would present a conflict.
I'm not saying there haven't been such cases, only that I'm unaware of any.
Whether or not I agree with the company she keeps or her politics, I believe she, like any other on the bench, should have the right to associate with whomever she chooses as long as she does not compromise the integrity of her position.

Why stoop to their level?
Adopting such a doctrine will more than likely come back to haunt you in the future. Remember the old Texas adage:
Life is like a jar of jalapenos
What you do today, will burn your a$$ tomorrow.

Why stoop to their level?Because, as my daddy said: you can't argue with performance. The whole reason for a "dialog" is to peacefully come to an agreement on some issue, but the foundational presumption of that method is that both sides will play by an accepted set of rules. Leftists change the rules whenever the rules don't favor them.
The one thing I can absolutely promise you is the left will never return to abiding by the "rules" of their own accord.

If Kerry is elected, we can expect a lot more Ginsburg types on the Supreme Court.
Everyone should remember that on election day when thinking about staying home or voting third party.
