We all know the sad but true old saying, "You can't pick your relatives!" This is very valid when it comes to distant cousins.
McClellan said Card "cooperated fully with the investigation" and views this "as a very sad, very unfortunate incident."
McClellan said Lindauer made "various attempts" to contact Card and said she was in contact with the Iraqi regime.
Card "brought that to the attention of the appropriate officials" at the Justice Department, McClellan said.
A government source told CNN that Card was not home when Lindauer delivered the letter to his house.
The source said Card immediately notified the Justice Department and turned the letter over to authorities. Card also informed President Bush of the investigation, the source said.

Yeah, I figured she was likely a second or third cousin, although it didn't state so, I don't think. No slime on Andy Card as far as I'm concerned. He did the right thing, imho.

Your post to madison10:
Funny you bring up JOE WILSON, his lawyer was on FOX this am and he was itching that somebody in the White HOuse had it out for old Joe and that is why they leaked his wife's name. He gave no evidence, other than Novak knew and he should tell what he knew. Nice catch. This is indeed odd timing. The Plame/Novak thing has been off the news cycle, and amidst all the significant news, this guy pops up to try to rekindle the "bush has it in for Wilson" nonsense?
If Wilson himself were doing it, I might not impute meaning beyond him craving the limelight, but his lawyer...hmmm. Makes me wonder about what strategic legal advantage exists in reinforcing Wilson's victim status now. In the context of yesterday's arrest of Lindauer, and a neighbor named Joseph Wilson being quoted in one news item about her, this may be interesting.

Watching the method of operation of these that stir the mud, does cause one to keep their ears open.
There is no way to know what prompted Wilson's lawyer showing up on Fox, but if it was a big attention attraction ploy, it flopped. However, those to whom the story was directed to sure would have been watching, since it was the lawyer doing the talking. You never know if Fox initiated the interview or if old Joe's lawyer called in for a few moments of free tv.
Who knows what these people are really doing, could be political or it could be an attempted to deceive, which in the liberals case are one and the same.

Well, if he shows up on other stations or, better yet, in a Walter Pincus article in the WP tomorrow, we'll know it's not just a Fox programming coincidence.

Interesting that Wilson and Lindauer are both associated with EPIC (Education for Peace in Iraq Center).
