NEW YORK -- An American citizen was arrested Thursday on charges she acted as an Iraqi spy, prosecutors said.

Susan Lindauer, 41, was arrested in her hometown of Takoma Park, Md., and was to appear in court later in the day in Baltimore, authorities in New York said.

Very interesting (thanks for the ping, though I'm not sure of what ETFs are). It would explain the early stampede to the exits (I can't find any substantiative info or serious market trigger levels like Dow 11K that would have triggered the early exit).

Getting back to $orea$$ and company, methinks it goes back a bit further than a lot of people give credit for. It seems I am the only one that remembers the market's insanity of 1998-1999, where job loss was good and each report of companies adding jobs was worth a 100 point drop in the Dow.

Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Zoe Lofgren (D-San Jose) issued the following statement today regarding the arrest of Ms. Susan Lindauer.

“I was shocked to learn from news reports today that Ms. Susan Lindauer, who served on my staff for an eight week period in 2002, was indicted for ‘conspiring to act as a spy for the Iraqi Intelligence Service.’ Ms. Lindauer served as Press Secretary in my Washington, D.C. office from March 11, 2002 until May 14, 2002. To my knowledge, this former employee had no access to sensitive information. Obviously, I had no reason to think that she was involved in this alleged activity. I have had no further contact with her since she left my employ. If there is any way I can assist with the investigation, I will happily do so.”

Giving Zofgren her due, which I am loathe to do, she acknowledges the woman worked for her. Braun can't remember.

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace popped up with Lindauer's name but nothing was there when I searched there. George Soros had a page there, he's lecturing. The endowment has a Group of Fifty which requires a password. Fifty means top money, influential people. Of course the endowment is against the war and anti-Bush. I had to take a break from googling but all the peaceniks have met before imo. Lindauer is 41.

I was also wondering about Kerry's wife's peace organization. What are the chances that Lindauer belongs to that but I'm sure those records have already been purged, unless there's a news account somewhere. That's enough for me for now. She's a democrat, what more do we need to know?

I use this site to help buy or sell ETFs and to help me buy mutual funds on a dip and sell mutual funds on a rise. ETFs are sold during the market day. Mutual funds supposedly are sold and bought at the end of the market day based on the value of the stocks owned by the mutual funds.

For example in Jan and Feb I bought a few mutual funds which owned businesses in Europe. I bought the funds when the Euro ETFs took a hit or dip. When I sell them, I will sell them when the Euro ETFs are rising. That manuever will often gain me 1 to 2% on the buy, (the dip) and then a repeat on the sale. This is even more critical/helpful re when to buy bond funds or to sell them.
