Owens Won't Run For Senate

DENVER (News 4) Gov. Bill Owens will not running for U.S. Senate, News 4 reports.

News 4 has confirmed that Owens will make the announcement at 1 p.m. Watch his announcement live on the home page of news4colorado.com at that time.

Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell, 70, said last week that he would not seek re-election to a third term in a surprise announcement that came after two hospital visits for stress-related heartburn.

Owens won re-election in 2002 with 65 percent of the vote and has been mentioned as a possible cabinet member in a second Bush administration and even as a vice presidential candidate.

GOP Congressman Scott McInnis, long interested in the Senate, said that if he decides to run, he won't be deterred no matter who is in the race.

Other potential Republican candidates include Rep. Tom Tancredo, Rep. Bob Beauprez and Rep. Marilyn Musgrave.

Democratic Congressman Mark Udall is reconsidering an earlier decision not to run.

Democratic Congresswoman Diana DeGette is also thinking about seeking the Senate seat. Spokesman Josh Freed said she will make a decision soon.

Attorney General Ken Salazar, also a Democrat, told The Pueblo Chieftain last week that he is contemplating a Senate bid.

I think Tancredo is really valuable right where he is. However, if he wins the primary I will support him financially and also as a volunteer on his campaign.

I think McInnis is the best choice but I would be very happy with Senator Tancredo.

that honors student was an ILLEGAL!! Sweet jesus what is with those of you who defend them. I don't care if they're bakers or toiletbowl cleaners - THEY BROKE THE LAW.
And it had been debunked that Tancredo knew that the company he had hired was employing illegals. Cheney got a deferment. He a fake also? As for the gun control flip flopping, thats the first I've heard of it. Produce a link please.

Owens has alleged Clinton problems..hence you will not see him run for POTUS, and that's why he isn't running for senate.

Why do you say that? Do you have any polling that shows TT is extremely unpopular in Colorado?

Please provide a link to info on the gun control issue.

He went after the honor roll student rightfully. Others wimped out. Tom didn't. Tom also helped raise money for an illegal alien family with a terminally ill child.

Tom hired a contractor to do some remodeling of his home. He did not individually hire the laborers that were on the contractor's crew. This happens to everyone. I would bet that the crew that replaced my driveway had illegal aliens on it and so I turned in the contractor. But if you wanted to look at it that way, I guess I had illegal aliens on the payroll too.

Link to the Klinger info too, please.

>>>Tancredo is a fraud. Nice FU to America.

Another ignorant Californian. LOL

Tom Tancredo is a solid conservative and a loyal Republican. Tancredo is pro-life and has a 98% rating from the ACU. He also has the support of the vast majority of Coloradan's and American's on the issue of illegal immigration. Most American's agree with Tancredo and are anti-amnesty and want the borders sealed shut.

GOP Congressman Scott McInnis can win the senate seat and so can TREASURER Mike Coffman.

On the RAT side AG Ken Salazar can win too, and UDALL would be competetive, because of his Name ID.

I bet today, if TOM.T is the Nominee of the GOP, the rats will win the senate seat in CO.

Sam Francis?

Could it be that Tancredo is just not enough of a radical for you?

You might be right but I don't think Udall can win it.

Salazar might though. Also this Dem that is new on the scene, the multi-millionaire who hasn't held office before might be attractive to a lot of people.

He went after the honor roll student rightfully.

Show me where he went after the installers or contracted company.

This happens to everyone.

No, it doesn't.

Link to the Klinger info too, please.

It and the gun flip flop were posted FR, I'll look for them.

Sam Francis?

Check V-Dare. I posted a link to the interview once, but VDare is not allowed here.

Could it be that Tancredo is just not enough of a radical for you?

Cute.

No, it doesn't.

Yes it does. When I contracted for my driveway I didn't inspect the contractor's crew upfront and neither does anyone else. When I got a look at them, I turned him in. I don't know if anything happened with it or not.

The way I understand it, he found out about the illegals when it hit the press. I don't know that he even saw the crews. If you can prove that he did, go ahead and prove it.

And for good reason. Please don't compare Tom Tancredo to Sam Francis and VDare.

To answer your one of your questions, Tancredo couldn't go after the illegals who worked on his home as they spoke out only on the condition of annonimity. That idiot honor roll kid had his face front and center in the local newspaper. And once again, Tancredo simply asked a company to do some work on his basement. He had no idea whether or not they employed illegals though one would think if a business can be found in the yellow pages its operating legitimately. Thanks to such lax security when it comes to employers even if he had asked about the legal status they might have fooled the employers too.

Tancredo simply asked a company to do some work on his basement.

The company fired all but one employee the next day and went unpunished.

Go Tom Go
