Army Maj. Gen. William G. Webster, commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, salutes Sgt. 1st Class Ralph Durman during a field visit at Fort Stewart, Ga., on Monday. Webster last week received the order for a second rotation to Iraq for his soldiers. The 3rd Infantry Division sent 16,500 troops into Iraq when the war began last March, and its tanks and armored Bradley vehicles led the assault on Baghdad. The troops were home by the end of last summer.
Iraqi insurgents were absolutely elated to learn of the impending return of the dreaded 3rd Infantry Division, NOT!
Marines line up in formation before leaving the National Palace on a foot patrol around the city center in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on Monday.
The Marines have been practicing diligently for the upcoming World Series of "Freeze Tag."
A woman passes through a line of Marines preparing to patrol Port-au-Princes city center on Monday after a ceremony formally installing Boniface Alexandre as the interim president of Haiti.
The Haitian version of Hop Scotch is a lot more complex than the American version.
French Col. Daniel Leplatois listens to U.S. Marine Col. Charles Gurganus during a press conference at the airport in Port-au-Prince on Monday. Gurganus confirmed that Marines shot and killed a gunman during an outbreak of violence at a weekend demonstration by Haitians celebrating the ouster of former president Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
The precise terms of the French governments surrender to the Haitian insurgents have been kept secret for the time being.
The Armys SmarTruck III is displayed at the Society of Engineers World Congress in Detroit on Monday. The truck is designed to detect an airborne biohazard and alert authorities, track attackers in complete darkness and sense an incoming missile.
SmartTruck IV though still in prototype stage is expected to alert the Canteen and FR.com authorities of the presence of burkas, and other biohazards such as unbathed crazy people.
A U.S. armored vehicle drives past a truck in Baghdad on Tuesday that was damaged by a roadside bomb, one that apparently was intended for U.S. military convoys. The driver of the truck was killed.
Truck washes in Iraq are reported to be using some very powerful solvents which have been banned in most western nations.
Just another day at the office for our Troops.

Yeah,
I was not entirely playing by the rules, but then again, I could get booted off at anytime by my nefarious computer and it's lately troublesome proclivities.
