[history]
Kerry is determined not to lose Florida's 27 electoral votes in a swamp of recounts and recriminations this fall, vowing to mount an early legal challenge in any district that might repeat the problems that bedeviled Democratic supporters in 2000.

Did you read Teresa's remarks about Kerrys being "hard" and having "thrust" against Bush and so on. Me thinks the lady needs to get laid.

Ooooo! this just makes me so MAD!
This repeated canard that it was the republicans that tried
to steal the florida vote count.
We were on line, we SAW it AS IT WAS happening!
Remember, there were FREEPER MONITORs who drove down for it.
It was the G-Damned Democrats who tried to thwart the will of the people, it was the media, that declared Gore the winner before the polls had closed in the panhandle,
I just want to crush these freeking dwarfs.
Quick, someone hand me the pliers!

EVERY media outlet would be drawn to THAT like flies to honey. Even with the claims being complete BS, it could conceivably knock Bush off message VERY late in the game and amount to a repeat of the Walsh indictments in 1992 and the DUI release in 2000. If he began this even before the election, he would tick off huge numbers of the mushy middle. Last time, the people were willing to wait until things were sorted out, but the longer it went on the more impatient with Gore they got. I don't think people will tolerate whining and warnings beforehand, they'll punish him at the voting booth and make it all irrelevant.

We have to remain calm,,we have eight months to go. Our adrenals will burn right out if we relive Florida. We need to conserve our energy and fight smart.

Many years ago our Governor in Louisiana, Earl Long, went totally psychotic in public. It was a hoot to watch. He traveled across country psychotic as a bedbug with a stripper, Blaze Starr. One of my fonder memories. He was committed to the state hospital while governor, called a meeting of the hospital board and fired the superintendant of the hospital and liberated himself. Maybe Kerry will go totally off,,wouldn't that be a pleasure to watch!!I nearly laughed myself out of my chair on that one!
We can only pray - and Freep - to work to push JFinK over the edge too!

He might as well start suing the three counties in Florida that caused the trouble last time. Rather than use the paper ballots that were perfect in 2000, they chose the touch screen machines that are too complicated for democrats to operate. And they cannot be recounted.

You know they have the "disinfranchised" black voters papers already drawn up, probably with the names of voters too. Why wait for the election. The Dems will have there fraud machine at full throttle in this election, it could really get ugly, especially if its another close one, and it will be.

I went to Florida for Bush-Cheney twice in 2000 -- Broward County and Hillsborough County. Do I get an Oak Leaf Cluster if I go back in 2004?

The movie about him "Blaze" was a real hoot. How close was it historically to the real deal?
Well, I don't know what Earl Long looked like, but he was portrayed in the movie by: Paul Newman!
To: Inspectorette
Earl Long looked like, well, his name. He was short, uglly, like a hay seed, unattractive. Paul newman was a stretch. Plus he was a hick sort of guy, earthy, southern, country guy. But he was a smart crazy old socialist.

Yes, the Democrats in Florida were even booing his speech.

George W. Bush won the presidency by five electoral votes when a 5-4 decision by the Supreme Court ended a recount in the state. Bush spent millions of dollars fighting Al Gore's effort to have votes recounted, a legal battle that lasted for 36 days. Notice the article left out that by a 7-2 decision the Supreme Court ruled that Gore's so called "recount efforts" were illegal, they were violations of Federal election laws.
In other words Gore was a cheat who was stopped in his disgraceful attempt to steal the election.
I am so sick of libs rewriting history.

"I intend to ask this legal team to do that, and we will identify those districts where people have had trouble voting in the past." That should be easy. They have all been districts where Dems are in charge.

How the hell can they be any earlier than the 11pm mustering of lawyers by the Sore Loserman campaign? There is no earlier than that.
