People who do not finance the government are voting to take money away from people who do finance the government.... The founders had it right to begin with. If you do not own property (or pay federal income taxes) you should not have a right to vote. That's a good point.
To: Howie66
There is plenty of time for Kerry to have Ted Kennedy chauffer him across a bridge. Or for Kerry to have Jane Fonda show him how to use Vietnamese artillary.

Either way works just fine for me.

Garbage Poll! Garbage Results! Pure Bovine Squat! A definite push poll that's trolling for the undecided.

The thing about Kerry is he is a BS artist, taking every position - but he sucks at it. He really does suck at it. He does not pull it off. Other things, people may do it for him but he just really does not help himself.

The media has just announced Kerry winning huge in a primary. I would be shocked if he were losing with all the recent hype. However, you cannot run on the primary forever.

"Not arguing the weak number Bushhas now - it is farily consistent that he is in the mid 40s - say 45 +/- 4 pts in various polls."
this mean the country is starting to decide it doesnt want Bush to be President anymore. They have not yet decided that the ywant Kerry however.

but rasmussen uses machines , and he sucked in 00....
NPR poll is probably on the mark:
The study, conducted by Republican pollster Bill McInturff and Democratic pollster Stan Greenberg, found that when rating their interest in the coming election on a scale of one to 10, 63 percent of likely voters put themselves at a level of 10. McInturff says interest in this election already exceeds interest in the previous two presidential elections two weeks before those votes.
The poll also revealed an electorate almost evenly divided between President Bush and his presumed Democratic opponent, Sen. John Kerry. At 53 percent, Bush's approval rating remains healthy. But when asked whom they'd vote for today, 47 percent of likely voters chose Bush, while 45 percent picked Kerry -- a virtual tie.

I'll get flamed for this I'm sure. But if this country elects Kerry, then we *deserve* another terrorist attack.
Ok, "deserve" is maybe the wrong word, but y'all know what I mean.

I can't imagine how anyone can approve of a president's performance, but want to vote against him.

Here's what I'm fearful about with these polls...if the media keeps skewing these polls and has Kerry ahead 5 - 8%, and then Bush wins by a small amount, they'll start crying foul play, blaming the new voting machines, etc. I think they'll keep it so close even if their internals show otherwise. I think it's going to be that nasty this election. It's war.

The RATS wanted the law !
"The FEC voted 4 to 2 to warn Americans for a Better Country that activities that "promote, attack, support or oppose" a federal candidate must be paid for with hard money, a type of political donation that, unlike soft money, has tight restrictions on sources and amounts. "

It is now impossible to win an election without promising to give more money to the voters (social security, etc..) And who can outpromise us on giving more money to voters via spending? John Effin' Kerry.
