The need to gain influence of the culture to effectively promote their agenda is at least as important as "gay marriage" is to the radical homosexual left.
A heterosexual usually creates "new voters" by sexually reproducing. These "new voters" carry on the values of their parents more often than not.
To multiply their numbers, the homosexual must rely on other means than sexual reproduction.
Homosexuality occurs "naturally" in society at a rate far below that of heterosexuals so gays are at an extreme disadvantage when it comes to the prerequisite for power and influence in a democratic society...numbers.
If homosexual marriage were allowed in the US, IN EVEN JUST ONE STATE, homosexuals could theoretically double their numbers almost immediately by marrying and bringing into the US foreign born spouses.
Most homosexuals don't have any desire to get married for the purpose of committing to a monogamous relationship but they might reconsider marriage if it helps the homosexual agenda...or if they can make a few thousand dollars for pretending to get married.
Democrats would see to it that this form of "marriage trade" is well organized and prospective foreign spouses would be screened to weed out potential Republicans.
If gay marriage is legitimized, expect to see a lot of swarthy new gay foreign spouses from countries where homosexuality is most adamantly outlawed.
I believe in the new version they come through the, ah, back door.
This is the old "homosexuals can't reproduce, so they must recruit" canard.
Homosexuals are not a species distinct from humans, with a separate imperative to reproduce. They don't seek to increase their numbers. Their numbers are constantly added to by heterosexual parents who are too obtuse, lazy, and ignorant to recognize the signs of sexual-identity problems in their young sons, and deal with them intelligently and lovingly.
