Washington Prowler: Kerry Behind Attacks on Bush ads
American Spectator ^ | Published 3/8/2004 12:07:49 AM | By The Prowler

Despite denials that the Kerry campaign criticized the Bush ads, the Kerry camp did reach out family members of people killed on 9/11 whom they knew were supporters of Kerry and asked if they'd be willing to denounce the ads publicly. Those people were given the names of assignment editors at cable news channels and network news outlets, as well as talking points for them to use if they were interviewed.

I think that I remember that interview, I think she seemed to insinuate that he was a womanizer.

I am glad that it is being exposed!

I just wish Kerry's slimy tactics would get broader coverage in the media.

What someone should point out, that if Kerry were president, there would probably be MORE people dead by now, because he thinks the threat of terrorism is "exaggerated" and wouldn't take the strong, effective measures Bush is taking.

I also heard them play it this morning so that makes it twice. Tony Snow played it on his radio show last week too. Maybe other sources will air it now. Reading the words in print is bad enough but hearing him spew the words in his imperious tone is beyond disgusting. He cannot run away from that.

"You would think that this kind of story would be right down Fox News' alley. It is a bonafide story of political dirty tricks. Is Fox afraid to tackle it because they are sensitive to being viewed as "Republican-leaning"? Does Fox need one of the DNC outlets such as CNN or the NY Times to hint at a story before they are willing to take off with it?"

I actually saw this referenced last night on Fox.

I think the article says something different from your headine. Apparently Kerry has been looking for 911 families to denounce, but the DNC went behind Kerry's back with the attack on the Bush ads.

Possibly Kerry wants to use 911 to attack Bush, and now the concept has been discredited.

Wrong. So far, the story has appeared only in conservative media or web sites. That's called preaching to the choir. When it appears in the NY Times, Boston Globe and/or the Washington Post, as well as CDNNCBSNBCMSNB, then it will have legs.

I agree. Our side needs to get the word out, and they're not doing a good job of it. One obvious way to show that these were "talking points" is the mentioning of Bush having "milk and cookies" with elementary school students. There were no milk and cookies served that day -- it's an obvious talking point, and it's clear that these 9/11 professional victims were spoonfed that line.

However, what thoughts will it stir up with the public when they see the firefighters using 9/11 in their ads ..??

I can just see husbands and wives looking at each other and saying .. aren't these the same people who were having a fit about the President using 9/11 ..?? Hmmmm?

Remember some very important facts. When Bill Clinton was impeached, the media pounded us with 75% of the public doesn't want him removed from office. However .. just one year later, that very same 75% had changed their minds and believed he should have been removed. Then .. we had 9/11.

Those same 75% are still out there - and the democrats have failed to recognize it - to their detriment.

In the words of Kerry's spokeswoman over the weekend...

"We should not be politicizing 9/11!"

along with that (mostly around 65% actually), was the other half of the polls, which went almost universally unreported: less than 20% were opposed to Clinton being impeached and removed. Many didn't actively want him impeached, though they thought he deserved it.

I think the article says something different from your headine. Apparently Kerry has been looking for 911 families to denounce, but the DNC went behind Kerry's back with the attack on the Bush ads.

It quotes the Kerry camp as claiming they thought the DNC used ham-handed tactics, but it goes on to say that it was in fact the Kerry campaign that contacted pro-Kerry families and *gave them talking points*.

I think our original deduction is correct. The Kerry group wants to distance themselves from the Bush bashing over the ads, but they are smack in the middle of it.

This is Kerry trying to triangulate like any good Rat. The Heinz connection and cooperation with the Rat press is where this story is. McAwful will take the fall if the Same stream press gets exposed by themselves??? This has been in the planning for months waiting for W to run the ads.

Pray for W and The Truth
