Bush, Fox, promote plan to ease immigration laws

Crawford, Texas - President Bush and Mexican President Vicente Fox joined forces Saturday to promote Bush's plan for easing immigration laws, as Bush acknowledged that the proposal faces a tough time in Congress.

Standing side-by-side in bright sunshine at Bush's Texas ranch, the two leaders said Bush's plan for a new temporary worker program would help both countries by eliminating the underground market for Mexican workers. The proposal would let an estimated 8 million workers who are in the United States illegally gain legal status as guest workers.

"The people who come to this country make a significant contribution to the American economy," Fox told reporters.

Bush's plan, announced in January, has raised expectations in Mexico and among illegal workers in this country, but it has little chance of passing Congress this year. Republican critics say the proposal would reward illegal immigrants; Democrats complain that it does not do enough to help foreign workers become U.S. citizens.

Just as Immigration is not a "single, puny" issue, your question is was not a "simple" one and I did not provide you with a "laundry list" of reading assinments.

You asked a question that has been answered, multiple times, in this very thread. You just refuse to see the answer because you are blinded by your belief that Bush is God. There is no point in my going back and copying replies throughout this thread. Your participation in this thread should allow me to assume you are actually reading it. If you aren't, you should not be responding to people. What you do is focus on the parts of replies that do not have anything to do with the main point, to avoid having to deal with the main point.

You can't focus on the the main point of an argument because doing so will cause you to lose, or to have to confront something you can't deal with.

Arguing with your type never ends because you can't confront reality. Your approach is almost identical to Bill Clinton asking to define the meaning of "is." It is a big game for you - avoiding having to deal with the truth.

Get a clue, open your eyes and pay attention, and stop exaggerating or downplaying the remarks of others, to avoid having to confront the realities they present to you.

The real kicker is Mexico (Mexico City really)  "controlled" (tried to control but the Comanches whipped their a$$es) the USA southwest for a grand total of 25 years.

Another one is there are very few USA Hispanics who can trace their lineage back to before our conquest of 1848. There are families in New Mexico and Texas who can point back that far but their numbers are few. The vast bulk of Hispanics came here after WW2. After 1950. In 1950 the continental USA Hispanics were 1-2% of the population. This doesn't include Puerto Ricans offshore.

Right. Let me "help you understand" that your argument is as bomb is to nuclear as firecracker is to warhead. LOL.

By the way, you make no sense on this. Where do issues or immigration fit in? That is what we are talking about, and you know it. But you refuse to address the main point and continue with your Clintonesque attempts to avoid it, especially when provided with answers you can't deal with.

Let me assist you one more time, so that you can return to the real issue at hand, unless you choose once again to avoid it with another shift in the detabe:

1. Issues
2. Bombs

1. Illegal Immigration = Big Issue
2. Nuclear Warhead = Big Bomb

If you refuse to discuss the real issue, or insist on remaining intellectually lazy or in continuing to play games, there is no need to continue.

Bush should be impeach over this. I will support it in a second.

If Bush does not want to uphold his oath of office he should be thrown out. The law is the LAW. Who the hell does this guy think he is?

Throw the Bum out. Send him to Mexico.

Because the other side is worse :(

We have no choice, none, no one cares about borders, neither party. Only the grassroots Republicans are more vocal about it.

Normal Democrats don't even see this as an issue, but a few do.

It's disgusting.

Who the hell does this guy think he is?

He thinks he's King of America and we're his subjects.

It's scary when an elected President ignores 70% of his base for his own personal agenda.

Send him to Mexico.

You may not have too. The way things are going, Crawford, Texas may be part of Mexico soon enough.

Now SF, we all know this isn't going to affect North Carolina. If we can just elect one more Republican to sit with Dolt in the Senate all our problems will be solved. Then the President can really get his agenda going < /sarcasm>.

Lived in North Carolina all my life and it is unbelievable to what it has become. Don't know what it's like around your neck of the woods but around central NC and western NC I know the influx of criminals has become quite bad.

only that the black cacus love Aristede and that it is a typical Clinton/Chirac fiasco;

Haiti is a fiasco because we (Clinton anyhow) supported --- kept propped up a corrupt regime that should have been overthrown years ago --- but we're also propping up the oligarchs of Mexico. Fox is smirking because he doesn't think he should do anything to improve the economy of Mexico so that those citizens might like to stay in their own homeland.

Bush's plan didn't say who was going to pay for their healthcare or the education of all the kids and other family members they might like to bring over.

I'm actually a moderate on illegal immigration. Say Bush keeps his word that only those who have broken no other law, and obeyed all the other laws are given amnesty. Include "paid their own way for everything", that means if you find all those illegals who never committed felony document fraud, never used any government program or service, have committed no crime like DWI or driving without insurance, shoplifting, have registered with the Selective Service as required, and filed their income every year with the IRS, paid up all their families' medical bills, supported their children here and back in Mexico ---- plus we end all welfare for legal immigrants ---- let those illegals stay and become citizens. Okay --- that's 5 individuals..... what to do with the rest.

The game (as though it were sports teams) of flipping the Presidency from Dem to Repub has gone on long enough for the incremental advances to finally reach the very door of the NWO.

I agree with your post completely. This is a plan that has been in the making for a long time. It doesn't matter a bit whether Repub or Democrat. Whoever is in at the time, proceeds a little further into the NWO, and then his job is complete, - then the next in line goes a little further. What I do not understand, is why they want to destroy this country.

So you're telling me that Bush should order the mass deportation of 10 million illegals and expect to be re-elected in November

Yeah, that would work!

80 - Interesting list of Bush accomplishments.

It reminds me of the list of icebergs the Titanic avoided on it's last voyage.

Does Bush truly believe he can count on our loyalty, his conservative base, when so much of what he is doing looks like a sellout of America to Vicente's whim? He does not even bother to try to explain it to us. Somebody please explain this to me.

It's not part of the big government, global plan. Not in the agenda. I know, I used to think that was BS too, but not anymore. It's real and it's happening right before our eyes.

Why the hell else would *anyone* want literally millions of uneducated, non skilled, third world types pouring into their country? It's a nation killer.
