This is the best they got?
Kerry
It's Vietnam all over again, A quagmire I tell you a quagmire! My vote for the war was so you couldn't go to war! How dare you go to the UN with promises instead of empty rhetoric! Brent Scowcroft and Jim Baker promised me (or someone I know) that you were only kidding! You misled us by telling us what you were going to do, and had the balls to actually do it!! No politician does that you liar!!
W, I went to Vietnam, I served in Vietnam, We lost in Vietnam, and Mr. Bush, this is almost, sort of like Vietnam (but without the VC springing up in the rice paddies wiping out whole companies, thousands dead every week, no plan for victory, the Tet offensive or the POW's in Hanoi...uhm yea).
Your new ads show images of 9/11. You can't use that! Your politicizing the war!!
Pharmer
In the words of Shakespeare: "methinks thou dost protest to much!".
Bush's ads are a homerun! Keep it up W! Don't let the media get the upper hand. You have so much ammo this time. Keep the powder dry but hit them where it hurts every time!

I don't think the ad went far enough. I think it would be fair game to say that should Kerry get elected, we'd invite another 9-11 event.

Chris Matthews then asked her who she voted for in 2000 and she couldn't remember She might of had something lodged in her throat at the time. Democrats have selective memory.

Kerry returned to the scene of the action and recreated it while being filmed by a crew member with a Super 8 camera. Who played the teenager in a loin cloth?

The biggest damage that Clinton did to the federal government was instituting PC. He made federal workers attend mandatory PC classes. That came back to haunt this country because one of the flight schools called the FAA about an Arab student who claimed to be from France (but spoke no French) and claimed to have completed the basic commercial pilot course (and cannot not utter a word of English which is the mandatory language for airline pilots). The school felt something was amiss. The FAA reacted by asking the school why they had a problem with a student that did not speak English (the FAA was more concern about cultural insensitivity and the Anglo centric attitude of the school instructor towards an individual of color than enforcing their own regulations on the English language proficiency of commercial pilots and possible credential problems being observed by the school). Later the Arab pilot was one of the hijackers on 9/11. If any freeper have any detail info on story, I like it posted.

I think we should hit a bigger nerve and show THIS event in the ads..........hehe...... Exactly! The Dims are in terror that any picture of President Bush on the Lincoln in a flight suit will appear in a commercial. I think you are right, and hope that our strategists use these great pictures.

The question will be to find the PREPARED RESPONSES.
The objections to these ads was set up looooong before they were aired. The DNC was waiting and waiting with the "family" objectors.
BTW: Moveon.org mights as well be part of the kerry campaign. No coordination HA!
To: CFC__VRWC
Pretty much all of the organized "9/11 families" groups are nothing more than collections of tools for the Left - the 9/11 families who aren't professional left-wing activists are moving on, so they're too busy living their lives to spend all their time whining in the media. You've got it -- virtually all these 9/11 groups are about bashing Bush, and blaming him and everything else possible (building structure, airlines, etc.) for 9/11 except for the islamofascist terrorists who actually committed the act!
To: Wally_Kalbacken
I'd like to know if Democratic party operatives or Kerry campaign staff were working the phones last night after the release of the ads - ginning up reaction from the firemen (already endorsers of Kerry) and the select widows and survivors who have commented so far. That is the politicization of 9/11 that we should be outraged about. The sad thing is -- the Dems didn't even have to do anything. The media did all their dirty work for them, by ginning this up as a story, and interviewing only those who would support their anti-Bush point of view. Someone posted a Hardball transcript from last night, where Dem and Repub activists commented on the Bush ads. Not one of them mentioned anything about the 9/11 references, not even Steve McMahon, who worked for Dean! This tells me what a non-story this is.

F'Kerry and his Lunatic Rats want us to forget this ever happened: 9/11 will not be forgotten anymore than the first shots of our Revolutionary War, the Alamo or Pearl Harbor.

One of the big things I want to hear coming from the Bush Cheney camp is the statement by Kerry that GW Bush has "exaggerated" the terrorist threat, while showing the pictures of the planes, buildings collapsing, etc.

And who is this survivors group "9-11 families for a Peaceful Tomorrow"?
Aww - phooey on them -
The real name of the outfit is September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows
And from all appearances it is a fund-raising front for the Tides Center (EIN 94-3213100) of San Francisco - and "Peaceful Tomorrows" doesn't try to hide that they are affiliated on their contribute page. I know some Freepers are familiar with the Tides Center, and for those who are not, it is a non-profit organization that rakes in fairly big bucks ($63+ mill in FY 2002, which included $5+ mill in Government grants) to distribute out grants and allocations to various and sundry "social" projects and causes, with left-wing groups getting decent cuts of the action - they consistently lay out a good bit of change to anti-second amendment groups, for instance. September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows doesn't appear to be necessarily autonomous from the Tides Center. Interestingly, the P.O. box listed on the "Peaceful Tomorrows" site shares the same location address and zip in the neighborhood with such notable organizations as The New Formulation: an Anti-Authoritarian Review of Books (a biannual journal examining the value of recent publications to the development of contemporary anarchist theory and politics), Institute for Anarchist Studies, Radical Magick (an "Eclectic Ceremonial Based Magick Group"), South Asian AIDS Action, Lesbian and Gay Labor Network, Dyke Action Machine! or DAM! - not that there's anything wrong with that (in Jerry Seinfeld voice). The Fellowship of Reconciliation website that is also mentioned on "Peaceful Tomorrows" contribute page says it all - offices in Wash. DC and also San Francisco.
Though they may splash New York this and New York that all around, "Peaceful Tomorrows" is created and based in Oakland California, founded and directed by Barry Amundson and sister-in-law Kelly Campbell, with the web technical matters being handled by Steve Simitzis of Saturn5 Productions in San Francisco, which has an apparent mission statement of providing web consulting and "hosting for artists, online communities, activist organizations"
Amundson is Designer and IT manager for the San Francisco branch of Fenton Communications, a "public interest communications" company that has offices in Washington DC, New York NY and San Francisco.
They have a rather interesting list of clientele that include -
MoveOn.org
People For the American Way
Nelson Mandela - Presidential Election
Greenpeace
Ben and Jerry's
Rock the Vote (which is also a "top five" paid contractor for the Tides Center)
Can probe here for the whole listing.
Here's a bit from lengthy LA Times article about what they do and the crowd they hang with - I think the Moderators won't have a cow over this excerpt -
October 1, 2002
Operation: PeaceAntiwar movement reflects a different America than in past eras, but diverse allies keep the spirit alive.
By REED JOHNSON, TIMES STAFF WRITER
"We want to poison your mind," teases the woman with slate-colored hair outside First Baptist Church in Koreatown. Swathed in natural fibers and sporting an anti-Dubya button, she's minding a table piled high with books, pamphlets and stickers decrying the sorry state of the planet--wars, corporate malfeasance, environmental disasters-in-the-making, and so on--along with half a dozen copies of the revolutionary rabble-rousings of Chairman Mao.

But the rally's emotional climax occurred when Kelly Campbell and Barry Amundson, members of September Eleventh Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, a group composed of relatives of 9/11 victims, embraced beneath a giant video screen where images of the burning twin towers had flashed by moments earlier. Barry Amundson, 32, is the brother of Craig Amundson, a 28-year-old Army multimedia specialist who was killed when the hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon; Campbell is his sister-in-law. Both were in Los Angeles to voice their conviction that the response to last year's attacks on New York and Washington shouldn't be more mangled bodies and grieving relatives.

Words "direct public support" (read: donations) got left out for the $63+ mill FY 2002 figure description, unfortunately.

Anyone who says he should avoid mention of 9/11 in his ads, or any other time during his campaign, is actually trying to prevent GWB from running on his record. Near as I can remember, this is the first time a president's political opponents want to avoid a discussion of his bona fide record. Gee, I wonder why...Hard to believe this is the same GWB who was continuously bashed during campaign 2000 for being weak on foreign policy. Now the media and his haters want him to ignore his strong suit? HA!

I would love to see one of the Republicans debating a Democrat on a talk show and use some of Clinton's words from Oklahoma City... let the Democrat howl in protest, then reveal the source! I am sure there are some quotes somewhere that might fit....
