Re: Bush ads, We hit a nerve!!!

This is the best they got?

Kerry

It's Vietnam all over again, A quagmire I tell you a quagmire! My vote for the war was so you couldn't go to war! How dare you go to the UN with promises instead of empty rhetoric! Brent Scowcroft and Jim Baker promised me (or someone I know) that you were only kidding! You misled us by telling us what you were going to do, and had the balls to actually do it!! No politician does that you liar!!

W, I went to Vietnam, I served in Vietnam, We lost in Vietnam, and Mr. Bush, this is almost, sort of like Vietnam (but without the VC springing up in the rice paddies wiping out whole companies, thousands dead every week, no plan for victory, the Tet offensive or the POW's in Hanoi...uhm yea).

Your new ads show images of 9/11. You can't use that! Your politicizing the war!!

Pharmer

In the words of Shakespeare: "methinks thou dost protest to much!".

Bush's ads are a homerun! Keep it up W! Don't let the media get the upper hand. You have so much ammo this time. Keep the powder dry but hit them where it hurts every time!

I like the reaction to the ads so far.

When you see all these (6 or 7) Dem-Lib relatives of people killed on 9-11 moaning and whining, you know the Dems are behind them. You know we are getting to them.

Of 3000 people killed, they have a half-dozen relatives protesting the ads.

It's not working. The general public views the ads most favorably. They are tasteful and lowkey...not the type of screeching stuff we'll be getting from the Dem camp.

Kerry is another McGovern.

I am amused at the liberals as usual. For the past several months they have been using the war for their own political benefit, bashing the President over it, screaming about WMD's etc. But the actual CIC is not supposed to use it politically? Right!

I had completely forgotten, until now, about the group of families of 9/11 victims who in the immediate aftermath of the attacks were calling on the country to turn inward to reflect on what we had done to bring these attacks on - rather than go to war and bring the evildoers to justice.

This group (hopefully they represent a minority opinion) is protesting President Bush for reminding us about the high stakes of this election - because they want Kerry to be elected, end the War on Terror, and lull the country back to sleep.

Interesting personal sidebar - I was talking to my elderly, socialist aunt today, and though she is a dedicated Bush basher and she lives in a part of the country that isn't a prime terrorist target, she was nonetheless deeply disturbed to learn that Kerry thinks the terrorist threat has been exaggerated. This boosted my confidence that maybe people do "get it."

Pharmer:   "methinks thou dost protest to much!"

Shakespeare:   "The lady protests too much, methinks." -- Hamlet, Act III, Scene II

Shakespeare's use of the word, "lady", would still be appropriate when applied to Kerry.

oh yeah - a full 4 months in vietnam (most did 1 year), with 3 purple hearts. btw - 2 of the people hearts were for "superficial" ("I want my mommy.... I gotta boo boo on my finger) - and after 4 months, Kerry got yellow and wrote his commanding admiral whining about being in Vietnam and asked to be relieved - so he was sent home.

T H E N Kerry testified before Congress that American soldiers in Vietnam were baby killers, rapists, and villiage burners - and he had personal first hand knowledge of these supposed crimes of war.

yeah....

This should be a Bush-Cheney '04 commercial.

I keep asking this question too. Why is it liberals and their wacko, celebrity surrogates never have anything to say about ruthless, repressive, bloody dictators?

The Democratic Strategy this year will be to attack any effective ad or message that George Bush puts out as "improper" or simply to accuse Bush of attacking Kerry's patriotism. They are completely bankrupt and have to rely on creating a perception that the economy is tanking and that somehow the war is not going well. They are selling snakeoil. Unreal!!!

Hillary's mentor Saul Alinsky taught his followers to goad opponents into submission. This is what the Kerry camp is attempting to do, but President Bush and his team won't fall for it.

Heck they have their own CD out about it. I bought it at the Dollar Tree here in Millington, TN for a buck. It was straight news footage, and some light comentary..worth the Buck, for the high quality news footage alone.

You are so right about these ads. They kicked the Rats right in crouch. The Bush team doesn't need to back down. In fact they should run some ads with the Planes crashing into the towers and ask John F'ing Kerry if he thinks this is a law enforcement problem.

Re: Bush ads, We hit a nerve!!!...apparently - Bush ads have been showing on Philadelphia TV and tonight the Kerry people started running counter ads - something about Bush is sending all our jobs overseas and now we find out he wants to cut overtime pay for workers which will make us all even poorer - they're running scared already and burning up what little cash they have to try to keep Bush from defining himself before they get a chance......

I agree 100% with your take. When this nation needed a leader after 9-11 one man and one man alone stood and rose to the challenge. Tonight I heard the dumbest thing ever some widow of 9-11 said what right does Bush have using this as an issue while my husband was dying in one of the Towers Bush was reading stories to school kids. Chris Matthews then asked her who she voted for in 2000 and she couldn't remember or didn't want to show her true colors.
