For the past six hours, since about 3:00 PM, jet planes have been flying fairly low over Los Angeles County, about one flight every quarter or half-hour. The only explanation I can think of is that Bush is in town and these are presumably jet fighter planes. Does anyone know more about this? Thanks.

Hey, don't utter that comment in front of a USC Trojan.
If anyone can it's me, since my team beat yours this year.

Sounds like you got it in one, Fred.
The sounds you heard are the sounds of freedom.
Worry only if you also hear loud BOOOOOMs.

The sounds you heard are the sounds of freedom. Bump to that!
Difficult to believe that a word search for "freedom" had to go down to reply #83 to find the perfect response.

Funny how progress progresses.
When I enlisted in 1977, I joined an all volunteer military force.Few of my high school peers joined the military, but all had a basic, general understanding of what military service meant.Family or neighbors served.
BTW, we kicked butt and won the Cold War!
I have met people between the ages of 20-40 years old, who have never personally known a peer-aged, military veteran.
I was dumbfounded as to how that could be possible, but many swear they dont know a single soul in their age group who have served in the USA military.
Things that make you go hmmmm.
Brings to mind lyrics of that old song...Free ride.
"Come on, and take a free ride..."
Not that "not" serving in the military means anything about any citizens personal convictions, but not even knowing anyone who did/does serve...something is just very wrong with that picture.
