Jets over L.A.

For the past six hours, since about 3:00 PM, jet planes have been flying fairly low over Los Angeles County, about one flight every quarter or half-hour. The only explanation I can think of is that Bush is in town and these are presumably jet fighter planes. Does anyone know more about this? Thanks.

We heard this too and rushed out to look, but either we missed it or clouds obscured the view. A week ago, the Stealth flew over so we thought it might be another one somehow. Also in Long Beach, very close to the airport. Since we hear planes all the time, the fighters do sound distinct.

I'm darned sure Dubya slept in LA last night, because the recurrent roar of military jets overhead, every 10 minutes or so, throughout the night, was a pretty loud indication. 2 AM... rrroooaaaaaarrrrrr...... 2:10... rrrooooaaaaarrrrrrr.... 3AM... rrrrooooooaaaarrrrrrrr..... 3:10 AM... rrrrrooooaaaaaaaarrrrr.....

At least it was a novel departure from police helicopters rattling windows at all hours.
