I just heard the air go out of a out of a lot of balloons here. Lots of people, posters, pundits were predicting she would jump into the race.
Still, she did say she would 'do anything she could' to help Kerry win the election. That'll leave some wriggle room for those that will like to speculate about her being the Running Mate on the Kerry ticket. (I'll be among those ;-).

I get the impression that the Klintoons have been more or less in Kerry's camp all along. Even the exposure of the affair with the intern now in Africa was more helpful to Kerry (getting that news out early) than harmful.
Perhaps the Klintoons feel more comfortable having someone who "understands" that politics is more about telling people what they want to hear, and spewing a constant stream of sound bytes that smear the opposition, than it is about anything involving integrity, leadership or other such old fashioned crap. </sarcasm>
Dean certainly threatened the Klintoon's control of the party more than the other candidates, and threatened to gain independent sources of money, from his working the web.
I reckon Hitlary is more concerned with controlling the big money than she is with ensuring that no other 'Rat wins this time around. She should be pretty confident that no other 'Rat is going to win in '04 if she decides they shouldn't.

Missus clinton's endorsement is (preemptive) cover for the dirt on Kerry that will be issuing forth at times of maximum impact from the clinton "infrastructure."
to fish hawk: Positional predilection of both suggest the converse, i.e., pork on ketchup.

" . . . and I will do everything I can to get him elected. So I hope that next year we will have a Democrat in the White House," She knew the day would come when she had to say something. The cheering crowd would stop for a moment, make a collective turn and look in her direction and say, "Well, Hillary?"
This was like everything else she does - contrived!
She wants John Kerry in the White House about as much as she wants Jim Robinson in the White House.

LA Times:
The Resounding Choice of All but Independents*** Yet even in California, Kerry did not run nearly as well with independents who were eligible to vote in the Democratic primary as he did among party members.
This trend was more pronounced in Tuesday's voting in Ohio and Georgia, according to exit polls conducted by Edison Media Research/Mitofsky International.
In that way, the results underscored Kerry's ability to mobilize Democrats and the challenge he may face with independents as the campaign's focus shifts to the battle against Bush.
"The story for Kerry so far is mostly one of strength," said Elaine Kamarck, who was an advisor to 2000 Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore. But, she added, Kerry's showing among independents "is obviously something we need to worry about."***

What is saidNEW YORK Senator Hillary Clinton gave Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry her endorsement Tuesday, as the Massachusetts senator rode his way to a sweeping victory in several Democratic primaries. "This is going to be a year, I believe, for Senator Kerry who will be our nominee and I will do everything I can to get him elected. So I hope that next year we will have a Democrat in the White House," [Hillary said].

Ay, yo. Youse are gonna make me your runnin' mate, or udderwise, BADDA BING, BADDA BOOM. Capiche?
