The pacifists gathered tonight in Frot Collins, Colorado, but first they had to run the FReeper gauntlet, LOL! They were there for a meeting to hear leftists propoganda and promote their plan for the rest of us. Well folks, they won't sleep well knowing there are right wing activists out there willing to take to the streets and get in their face.....
Here is what we were FReeping:
TERRORISM:THE REAL THREAT AND THE RIGHT RESPONSE
Fort Collins, CO Strength Through Peace (STP), an affiliate of the Center for Justice, Peace, and Environment, invites you to join us on Monday, March 1st, in the Fort Collins City Council Chambers for a forum featuring two speakers: 9/11 family member Valerie Lucznikowska and University of Denver Professor Alan Gilbert. The two speakers will discuss the politics of apprehension of and retaliation to terrorism, examine its root causes, and offer some suggestions as to how terrorism might better be addressed in the future. This event is co-sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Bullhorn, a leading provider of alternative news, views, and culture in Northern Colorado.
Valerie Lucznikowska lost her 37 year-old nephew near building #2 of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. She is a member of the New York-based organization Peaceful Tomorrows, which is made up of survivors, family members, and friends of 9/11 victims. The group¹s mission is ³to seek effective, nonviolent solutions to terrorism, and to acknowledge our common experience with all people similarly affected by violence throughout the world² (www.peacefultomorrows.org ). Ms. Lucznikowska is the executive director of the Congress of International Modern Architects.
Alan Gilbert teaches in the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Two of his main research interests are nonviolence and ethics in the international arena. Professor Gilbert¹s latest book is Must Global Politics Constrain Democracy? Great-power Realism, Democratic Peace and Democratic Internationalism, published by the Princeton University Press in 1999..
Strength Through Peace is an affiliate of the Fort Collins based Center for Justice, Peace, and Environment. We are a community of concerned people in Northern Colorado with a shared belief that social, political and economic justice are essentials of peace and are the best defense against terrorism and war. We further believe that adherence to international law is of supreme importance when nations are confronted by violence from without. Our purpose is to influence the basic character and policies of the United States to pursue these ideals through popular education, advocacy, and direct action.
I'm really bummed that I forgot my tattered, tarnished U.N. flag in the truck. It would have made a good "welcome mat". The pacifists were not amused, and the conversations were really funny. Actually, their leaders had a cow.
The pictures will be up as soon as I can get them sent to CCMVRWC. Tonight I unveiled my newest sign creation "Pacifists Live In La La Land". ROFLMAO!!

Mitigating the frigid wind somewhat was the fact that we had plenty of hot air passing by us on its way into the City Council chambers. Too bad that none of them stayed for long. The wind appeared to be too much for them to stand. The longest anyone stayed was maybe 60 to 90 seconds.
Except of course for our old buddy JohnK, who is now running for the Demoncrat nomination for State House seat 52. (Hey FiveToes - you remember John - the guy you used to lionize so much?) He gave me one of his campaign fliers. I like John. He's a real teddy bear, even if his views on national self defense are completely wrong. If more of the people on his side of the street had personalities like him, I'd probably feel GUILTY picking on 'em with my signs every week. But of course they don't.
One of the leftists / pseudo-pacifists came back a second time and stopped to, err..... chat. You could tell he really wanted to retaliate with a snappy comeback to a particular sign of mine that they detest. (Some of them have made comments to me the past 2 years, and one actually wrote an entire whiny letter to the editor about it in a local free newspaper last month). But anyway, no doubt this leftist had spent time inside trying to think up a clever retort to hurl at me. He walked back down to us and said, "You know, that sign of yours that says, 'Pacifists Are Freedom's Parasites'. Well, what I would call a parasite is a President who's gone AWOL." I responded with, "Yes, you are talking about Bill Clinton of course, who lied to his draft board!"
Surprisingly enough, no, it wasn't Clintoon he was referring to. I asked him if he'd seen any of the recent evidence that the whole GWB/AWOL story was hogwash? That now two different men who were in the Natl. Guard with him, and a woman who dated him on occasion in Alabama, had all vouched that he had spent time at the Alabama base? The faux pacifist didn't respond. I asked if he watched FOX news? He mumbled something unintelligible in the wind as he turned and removed his source of wisdom from our presence.
Another guy who walked by without stopping was pretty hot at us. He told me loudly that the local peaceniks had indeed protested Clinton's military measures in the 90s. I expressed disbelief and asked him when and where this had happened. He called out "the Sudanese factory bombing". I called out that I'd check into it. Tonight I visited the archives section of the local pacifists blog on http://fcpj.blogspot.com/fcpj_archive.html - they do have quite an extensive archive - goes all the way back in history to ........ 10/13/2001. Hmmm.... I think I get the picture! I may call the local paper tomorrow to see if they have any reports on the "pacifist" group's activities at that time that I might have somehow missed seeing, but I'll betcha nothing turns up there either.
But anyway, enough gabbing here and on to the photo gallery ---
TRT, Old Glory, Joe from VFW, unidentified reporter. I talked to a female reporter from the Coloradoan. (I wonder what might come out of that?)
Yers Trewly - with the first sign I ever made for Freepin' - 28 months ago!
The rest of these are signs I made just today for use tonight. But the danged wind was blowing so hard that they would have been Gone With The Wind quickly..... so I had to leave them in the car. Well, there will no doubt be plenty more Freeportunities to use them, eh?
All in all, I was disappointed at the very low numbers they had - a few dozen I'm guessing. (When you put all this prep time into it, you want to have your opponents be WORTHY of your efforts! :-) )
Sayyyyyy, TRTeamer - thanks so much for loaning me your extra pair of gloves!! Dunno what I'd have done without them.
