To my fellow Americans:
February 24th was the thirty-fifth anniversary of my arrival, at the age of 19, in what was the free Republic of Vietnam. I was stationed at Can Tho Army Airfield in the Mekong Delta from Feb.'69 to Feb.'70. The first two months I was there overlapped with Monsieur Kerry's last two months "in country". During those two months, he had to have motored his Swiftboat right past our base many times.
In the year I was there, I learned how to be an unofficial "ambassador" soldier in my off duty time. Contrary to the horrendous and utterly false picture eminating from the imagination of Swiftboat Commander Kerry about we soldiers who lived among the people, we were not feared by that country's citizens with whom I became aquainted. On the contrary, I made many close Vietnamese friends who welcomed me into their homes and businesses as a friend. I had a girlfriend, Lan Nuyen, in the village of Bien Xe Moi, whose sister had married a GI and was living in Watertown, Massachusetts -- ten miles from where I grew up in Wakefield. I visited her when I returned home before losing track of them both in 1971.
Ask any Vietnam refugee, "Who was the aggressor in that war?" Ask why they chose to come here to America. Was it because we were so brutal and cruel to them, or because they knew us Americans to be kind, generous, and willing to fight for THEIR freedom?
It was the Kerry testimony at the Congressional hearings in 1971 that gave the American soldier in Vietnam a false and disgraced reputation. His word is not to be believed. He can not deny that his public professions hurt our efforts to end the war with a positive result, otherwise known as victory.
Neither can he deny the smearing of my reputation as a patriotic American, along with my brothers, who sacrificed blood, sweat and tears in an effort to hold back the tide of totalitarianism and its slaughter of innocents for the Communist ideal.
I am proud to be a Vietnam Veteran. I am ashamed that the actions of one of our own did so much damage to our cause, which was to secure the liberty of a people in a small far away land, which we abandoned to the enemy in part because of his political ambitions and lies.
Yours in truth,

We're still facing a complete media blackout. When you get Foxnews to report it I will be impressed. Right now however, you're preaching to the choir.

The first two months I was there overlapped with Monsieur Kerry's last two months "in country".
In other words, he was there for half of Kerry's tour.

I think it will grow. As there are more and more VVAJK/VNHR demonstrations, it will be hard to ignore.
There are a lot of journos who KNOW the truth. They were there. One wrote me after the AWOL slanders were at high pitch and told me he knew the media's game, that they were fully aware of how the Guard worked. Notice, it had no traction w/the people. I live in the midwest and this is Guard country. Everyone has a family member in or has served or knows people who are serving now. Everyone.
The same is true of VN vets. We all know several. VN was a mess, but we know those men did not do what Kerry claims. And we suspect Kerry didn't do exactly what Kerry claims.
We get to speak our piece on election day. I am hoping we blow the media's credibility to bits, again.
Just keep telling people the truth. My DH said tonight that he is just going to let people know that Kerry is not fit; he has too many psychological issues. For Kerry, it is always 1969.

I thank Bruce Siebert sincerely for his service to this country and for his testimony.

Prediction: If nominated by the Democrats, John (the Fickle Pickle) Kerry will win fewer votes from veterans than any candidate in the last 50 years.

Hey, AR, in the movie "We Were Soldiers," shortly after the first wave landed, there was an officer who took off after the NVA yelling about capturing him, the sergeant was trying to call him off, eventually they were ambushed and the survivors cutoff ... I'm sure you know the part. Question: did that really happen?
I ask because that seems to be an example of the typical young college-kid officer too stupid to listen to his sergeant, does a stupid thing in combat, and he and his men pay the heavy price ... you know the type, the kind that would run a swift boat up on the bank chasing after some young, scared enemy soldier ...
Anyway, that just came to mind, I don't know why :)

And all of his own tour.
Exactly. Anyone look into how Kerry's replacement made out, and how his boat crew fared after he left?

.
A Red-haired, red-freckled Lt. HENRY HERRICK did precisely what "WE WERE SOLDIERS" showed that he did right after landing in the Valley of Death that was the IA DRANG of November 1965.
After the Battle Lt. Col. HAL G. MOORE hand wrote out his Letters of Condolences to all the families of our U.S. 7th Cavalry's killed and wounded, numbering nearly 500. He wrote them up, I typed them up for mailing back home ..some going through Mrs. JULIA MOORE first.
This took weeks.
I will NEVER FORGET Lt. HERRICK training his Platoon on the Deck of our Troopship USNS ROSE as we sailed thru the Panama Canal on our way to Vietnam.
A Panama Canal that is now being operated by the very Communists we were then on our way to fight.

Your entire post bears repeating - you tell the truth about the media covering up, and about real America knowing the truth.
The complicity of the media in the Kerry and DNC campaigns is going to be very counter-productive.
