In 18 years as a professional movie critic, I've never gotten the response that I had this week to my one-star review of "The Passion of the Christ."
I knew the reaction would be hostile - movie critics routinely get hate mail, even one time for a review of "Bambi."
But, as they would say in an action movie of the kind Mel Gibson formerly made, this time, it's personal.

Great responses... A trifle cranky, isn't she?

LOL I'm also sick of liberals. I need to watch the Passion again and pay close attention to that forgiveness part. :)

If you had, there's no way you could call it "blantantly anti-Christian".
I watched enough to feel this movie was an offense to Christianity.
What Bible are you reading?

I looked myself for her review plus the Dennis Duggan clown also. Struck out. Reason I brought Lecter up was that I had actually seen that one since the wife rented it--did not see any of the flicks that the others were mentioning. Thanks for trying.

If you've never been there, check out the Ellis Island website, lots of good information and documentation.

I am witnessing before my very own beady little eyes (I stole that one from you), the passion of John. Awesome.
I plan to see the movie soon. Maybe I will do a vanity on it from my perspective (the detached non believer WASP). Why not?

Jewish folks have concerns and I am aware of them but some have gone a Bridge to Far, in their criticism of this film. So far that they in fact attack the Christian Gospels and Gibsons film as anti-Semitic hate speech. Disliking the film is one thing, and perhaps understandable since they simply see Jesus as a rabble rouser, but direct attacks on the bedrock of Christianity is too much and will be met head on on an individual basis.
Again, I am very interested in your opinion on the film. Perhaps a new reading of the 4 Gospels might be in order as well after the film.

There is only one reason you give a movie of this quality 1 star and it has nothing to with art. Mr. Bernard gave "Kill Bill" 2.5 stars, and took no issue with the violence.

I'm guessing from your post that you are free of sin. Or is it only the visible sin that matters? Your "temple" must be in pretty good shape,I'm guessing. How about the rest of you?

Please, I'm a sinful beast... but I'm not as big as a hypocrite or a psycho-suicidal-communist-bigot like this woman.
