ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) - A suspected suicide attacker blew himself up near a Shiite Muslim mosque in a city near the Pakistani capital on Saturday, Pakistani officials told The Associated Press. There were no apparent casualties other than the attacker, said Interior Ministry spokesman Abdur Rauf Chaudhry.

The attacker detonated his explosives near a crowded mosque where worshippers were marking the holiday of Muharram, he said.

Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told AP that the situation was "under control."

Muharram is a month of mourning when Shiite Muslims recall the seventh-century death of Hussein, grandson of Islam's prophet, Muhammad.

I have to disagree because of intent...he wanted to be a homicide bomber, but was to stupid. He would truly be a suicide bomber only if he did not want to or intend to kill others. He is an incompetent attempted homicide bomber.
