[history]
Watching Ralph Nader declare his candidacy was like having a terrible flashback. Oh no--not this again! I'm not saying we should muzzle independent voices or rule out third parties. Mr. Nader has a right to run for president. And I have a right to say, What an awful idea.

Hey Karenna: You're an elitist little snot, and no one cares what you have to say.

If, If, If.
Three things:
1. If my grandmother had wings, she'd be a 747.
2. If I see some evidence that she objected to Perot's two runs, I'll give her some credence.
3. WAH.

If the 2024 elections feature another Gore/Bush or Clinton candidacy, then the country will be doomed.

Before she runs for elective office, she might want to read this article:
Collision Course [The real reason Al Gore lost FL in 2000 - forget Palm Beach and hanging chads...] Excerpt:
... Forget about hanging chads and butterfly ballots. Forget about confused voters and missing ballot boxes. Forget about recounts and lawsuits. If Al Gore loses Florida's 25 electoral votes, and with them the presidency, he can blame himself for refusing to stand in opposition to an airport at Homestead Air Force Base.
Al Gore did not "debate" his differences in FL. Instead, he was silent. He was not, uh, a "fighter" here. ("I'LL FIGHT FOR YOU!!!" said Al Gore, coast to coast, during his campaign -- but, he didn't say that here in FL. He said nothing.)

It always sounds like an apology of feeling guilt when someone speaks "Everyone has a right".
The problem with Karenna is she thinks we want to hear her drag out this old tired stuff again.
To: Cincinatus' Wife
Kareena - The problem is that your old man didn't give the Nader voters a REASON TO VOTE FOR GORE.
He didn't earn those votes. He lost. End of story.

Well shoot, with all that "smokeage" and the contact high from Al the Third, no wonder she has all those visions!

the incredibly gay sighing debate or the "I'm a deranged alpha male" debate. But put them together, and they made Gore look not only terminally weird, but also like a guy who has to get up every morning and decide what kind of personality he's going to project that day. Good description.
The incredibly gay sighing came first. I listened to the first debate on my car radio, and when I jumped in and turned KSFO on, I thought the sighing was actually Michael Savage, adding a little play by play to the debate. I couldn't believe it when I got home, turned the TV on, and found it was Gore!
He was and is relentlessly weird.

There are downsides to the Nader candidacy, but this means that Kerry can't do too much attacking from the left. If he says something that Nader said, the press will dredge up the Nader quote (that nobody'd heard) and compare it to Kerry's. The Bush campaign will make sure of that. Unless something really goofy happens, though, Nader won't be a blip -- on the overall campaign or on Kerry.

I wouldn't be surprised if Soros funds much of this "children's" group. No doubt it's very little more than a mechanism to put money in the pockets of powerful people.
BTW, we should be on the lookout for how connected Kerry donors are to the Heinz foundations. Teresa cannot give money directly to Kerry, but she can have it get there by one degree of separation.
