I won't hire him. I won't support anything he's part of."
So says a chairman of major Hollywood studio quoted today by the New York Times in its latest attack on Mel Gibson and "The Passion of the Christ."
Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, who along with Steven Spielberg are the big cheeses at the powerful DreamWorks, and who just happen to be Democrat activists, are angry about the movie, according to the Times. And the chairmen of two other big studios say they won't work with Gibson.
"Amid the daily dealings of Hollywood, the film and the star have been fodder for unfavorable gossip. Dustin Hoffman has talked to friends about what he called Mr. Gibson's 'strangeness' during the ABC interview. The producer Mike Medavoy said Mr. Gibson's religious zealotry made him feel uncomfortable," the Times fretted.
'Antichrist' Welcome
Others, however, think Tinseltown's notorious avarice will rule in the end.
"If the movie works, I don't think it will hurt him. People here will work with the Antichrist if he'll put butts in seats," said John Lesher, an agent with Endeavor.
And the wallet-packing butts are there. The $30 million movie made up to $20 million or more on its debut Wednesday, Box Office Mojo estimated today.
The Associated Press today estimated Wednesday's take at more than $20 million, with a total so far of up to $26 million including previews Monday and Tuesday.

Being a convicted child molestor didn't stop Hollywood from hiring director Victor Salva to direct Powder and the Jeepers Creepers movies. And Roman Polanski got an Oscar just last year! Yet these same moguls don't want to work with Mel Gibson? What a crock.

It'll be tough to boycott "Shrek 2."

Mel Gibson stands to profit mightily from his film. It's called show BUSINESS, and he's a part of it. Fair enough, but just 6 months or so ago, everyone in Hollywood seemed to be convinced that he was going to lose big money on this film (like Rosie O'Donnell lost $10 million with Taboo). Now that he's going to make money on it, he's getting slammed for it.

Would it not be a supreme irony if Gibson would start a full movie production house in competition with the leftest houses now in the drivers seat. I suspect that Gibson has the resources and will soon have a lot more to do it well. I also expect a lot of us that seldom go to the movie would change our ways. It's coming, by the grace of God. I can feel it in my bones.

These hollyweirdos made junk like the Last Temptation of Christ and Dogma and many others and all Mel Gibson did was make a movie from the Gospels and his career is threatened.
Does not make any sense.
What are they so afraid of?

Something even more amazing is happening.
On the local Christian radio station they've begun broadcasting information about an outreach program devoted to distributing literature to all the -Jews- who are suddenly asking "so what's with this Jesus guy, anyway?" after seeing the movie.
It's a ministry run by Jewish Christians.
Here's the URL if anyone is interested in helping out:
http://chosenpeople.com/ One wonders if this isn't what "protesting" Jewish leaders are really worrying about.
If so, some things never change....:-\

All you need to do is read your Torah....Jesus fulfilled every prophesy for the coming Messiah. Start by reading Isaiah. May our Lord bless you....
Here are words from your Torah....
Isaiah 53
1 Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
8 By oppression [1] and judgment he was taken away.
And who can speak of his descendants?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was stricken. [2]
9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the LORD makes [3] his life a guilt offering,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
11 After the suffering of his soul,
he will see the light of life [4] and be satisfied [5] ;
by his knowledge [6] my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, [7]
and he will divide the spoils with the strong, [8]
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.

I'm waiting for them to say they would rather give their souls in hell than ever support somebody who makes a movie about Christ.
Incredible.
