I won't hire him. I won't support anything he's part of."
So says a chairman of major Hollywood studio quoted today by the New York Times in its latest attack on Mel Gibson and "The Passion of the Christ."
Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, who along with Steven Spielberg are the big cheeses at the powerful DreamWorks, and who just happen to be Democrat activists, are angry about the movie, according to the Times. And the chairmen of two other big studios say they won't work with Gibson.
"Amid the daily dealings of Hollywood, the film and the star have been fodder for unfavorable gossip. Dustin Hoffman has talked to friends about what he called Mr. Gibson's 'strangeness' during the ABC interview. The producer Mike Medavoy said Mr. Gibson's religious zealotry made him feel uncomfortable," the Times fretted.
'Antichrist' Welcome
Others, however, think Tinseltown's notorious avarice will rule in the end.
"If the movie works, I don't think it will hurt him. People here will work with the Antichrist if he'll put butts in seats," said John Lesher, an agent with Endeavor.
And the wallet-packing butts are there. The $30 million movie made up to $20 million or more on its debut Wednesday, Box Office Mojo estimated today.
The Associated Press today estimated Wednesday's take at more than $20 million, with a total so far of up to $26 million including previews Monday and Tuesday.

Thanks for the good idea. I, too, do not want to actually see the film. But I do want to support Gibson because there's more at stake here than just one film. It's long, long past time that one of Hollywood's own pushed back against the virulent Leftism endemic to the entertainment industry.

Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, who along with Steven Spielberg .... are angry about the movie This kind of publicity will whip up more anti-Semitism than the movie itself. Some Jews are their own worst enemy.

Lord, God,
Let every, EVERY studio boss who rails against Mel Gibson over this film be out of a job within 90 days.
Let them remain out of work and any other meaningful activity as long as they hold their rebellious attitudes.
Only you, can do this, Lord. Please make it happen as a demonstration of your values, your priorities, your power, in Jesus' Name.

"I wonder why such self-described Catholics like Martin Sheen are eerily silent while a fellow Catholic is getting skewered."
Possibly because Sheen is more superficial in his beliefs than is Gibson.
I wonder if Martin will deny that he knows of Mel Gibson three times before the cock crows?

I'm guessing they're less angry than they are jealous of the attention and the money. It's all about the money

I know everyone's thinking this same thing, but here goes:
JUST IMAGINE if a conservative were saying this about a liberal!
This should be headline news: "BLACK LIST ALIVE! Secular liberals vow vengeance on conservative Roman Catholic!"

Dreamworks is just one studio...there are many others who will hire Gibson.

re: Hollywierd can clean Gibson up if they'll get the feminazis to jump on Mel for having a lady play satan...)))
I'm looking forward to this, as I work up my nerve to see this movie. I think I'll find it hard to watch...
But artists' imaginative visions of angelic beings (Satan is one) is fascinating. I see that Mel sees them as without any sort of obvious sexual nature...

I think you are right. They are jealous. And now they are exposed as also anti-free speech, anti-relgion bigots who have an agenda to promote. Here is someone they cannot control.

re: about the money.
I really don't believe so--they've money past all imagining. What the rich want, after all that money, is to spend the rest of their lives congratulating themselves on their wonderfulness. I know a few rich people...
They hate Mel because he didn't ask permission--they had no opportunity to approve of him. They can't do anything now, but hate him.

THANKS TONS.
WE KNOW FROM SCRIPTURE and experience that prayers of agreement have tons more umph and effectiveness.
I believe God is exposing them so that we can pray and wage very effective war in the heavenlies.
I have seen effectiveness in such prayers over 30+ years. I have typically hesitated to pray such. I'm loathe to focus on the negative if I can prefer so.
But sometimes evil crosses such an important line so horribly, I feel Holy Spirit rise up within me and I would find it uncomfortable to restrain myself.
Anyway--happy for all who care to pray accordingly in agreement or similar prayers!

Well, so much for artistic freedom in Hollywood.
The big Democrat(Jew) activist producers can make Schindler's List and demonize Germany with 10X the violence and hatred.
Murder and mayhem for profit but not for soul searching.
The EVIL ONE lurks in the hearts of Hollywood elites.
We've known that for generations.
Nothing new....move along.
