Roll call - Who voted what on all the gun lawsuit ban votes, possibly AW ban later
thomas ^ | 2-25-04 | US SENATE

Posted on 02/25/2004 8:49:53 AM PST by Dan from Michigan

The first vote is to end the fillibuster. I'll post the other votes on this thread when they happen and when Thomas prints them. On this first vote, a YEA vote ends the fillibuster.

Everything should happen in the next 30 hours since cloture was invoked. However, right now - Drunken swimmer Ted Kennedy is going on a very long rant.

No. Bush SR has only himself to blame. 'Read my lips...' He lost his spin and gave in to the liberal blather and raised taxes. Not my fault he did that.

Oh my, he's paid SO DEARLY for it.

WE are the ones that suffer from protest votes.

Rintense, listen clearly please:

True RKBA people will not vote to keep an anti in any elected position. End of discussion.

In fact, the Pro-RKBA congress is in control because of us RKBA people in the first place.

Your political pals have been warned.

I believe he's saying that the NRA could very well strike a compromise (as is their habit, unfortunately) -- they'll support the AWB extension (and support the Bush administration's position in the process) IF the current anti-frivilous lawsuit bill is passed.

Whether the NRA stoops to this level remains to be seen.

If you would vote for nader you are a pretty sick person IMHO. The last Democratic president got over 3,000 americans killed on 9/11. we simply can't, as a nation, take the chance on anyone other than Bush occupying the White House next year, even if it means we aren't entirely happy with his positions on some issues. I'm willing to put up with the AWB if that is what it takes to keep the white house in republican hands and expand our control of the congress so that we can appoint conservative judges.

Ok I am going to combine your logic with m1-lightning

You protest vote got us the assault weapon ban in the first place. Remember when Bush SR. raised taxes and all the conseratives went apesh** and didn't vote to re-elect him? Instead, we got 8 years of liberalism. Now Bush is not right wing enough and you want another 8 years? To prove what? That we are better off with more lieral laws and judges?

My vote and other conservative votes are directly responsible for killing 3,000 Americans. Please! Consequently I could say that it was Bush SR's fault that 3,000 Americans perished because he raised taxes. At this point we are practicing butterfly theory.

They say that something as small as a butterfly beating its wings in China can cause a hurricane in America, so maybe we should go to China and kill all the butterflies, just to be safe. --Ken Advent

If you want to protest against Bush, do it in the primary election.

Ok fine. When do you draw the line. At what point does the mean balance the outcome. Who is to judge?

"What would I have a guilty conscience for?"

I don't know, I posted an observation to someone else about the site and you decide to come back with "I'll flame anyone who wants to elect John Kerry for four years in order to prove their point." So obviously you thought it was directed towards you. It was not directed towards anyone in particular, but hey what the heck. How about worrying about what is going on it the Senate?-

If some disagree with Bush, that's fine. Constructive criticism is great. You said "there are those on the site that will flame you for disagreeing with the President." I doubt anyone will get flamed for disagreeing with the President. Now, more realistic, there are those on this site that will flame you for not voting for him. That was my point in my original comment.

Got news for you, I and others have been flamed for complaining about the illegal immigrants proposal. Not once did I say how I was going to vote nor did I say to vote for anyone. I was told (incorrectly) how I had voted in the past and how I would vote in this election by those that try to be Miss Cleo. They end up the same as her, wrong. Which was the point of MY original comment.

Can't help you here. Haven't been following it at all. However, if a dealer sells guns illegally, or doesn't do background checks as required, I imagine he would be criminally liable for his actions. I suspect the law wants to hold harmless both the dealer and the manufacturer if the law is followed and some subsequent unlawful action by a third party causes harm.

You've got to be kidding me. You really think that this is worth electing John Kerry over?

You've got to be kidding me. You really think that sending the GOP a message that they own your vote, and are free to do whatever they want, regardless of whether or not it represents their consituency, and that they should rest confident in the knowledge that you will not only refuse to hold their feet to the fire, but will argue with anyone who does?

So who's kidding who?
